^I think the whole support and roll cage needed to prevent chassis flex ads a lot of weight. They probably have 250lb of steel in there. Still very light!

Wow, amazing build and detailed pics.

I wonder how it would do on the bends?! Oh, and it has the aerodynamics of a brick .

Straight line I predict 0-60 mph in 3.5 sec.

consider a similarly powered and gripped corvette does it in less than 3.5 and weighs a good 600-800lbs more. though the aero on an e30 sucks I bet a good driver can get it to 60 sub 3s.

V10 powered E30 M3 vs V8 powered E92 M2

I haven't seen the video yet... is it the same car? Must be; there can't be many E30 M3s with the S85 V10!

The one in the video is in Sweden, that video was taken at a m5board event last weekend.

^^^

My point was there were cheaper engines (for swaps) with a lot less bulk and complexity for a miata platform. Was not directed at the pre-made cars.

e30 M3s are STUPID expensive for what they are (and fairly rare, too). Not comparable at all to, say, an E46 325i sedan.

and yeah, building a hot Miata is all but formulaic. Either an FMII turbo setup, or an LS1/T56 swap. That pretty much covers at least 95% of the hot Miatas you see out there (a GReddy or JRSC setup doesn't count as "hot", although those 2 setups cover about 99% of the 'mildly warmed over" Miatas you'll see.)

Yeah, but an E30 M3 is the only one I would pony up cash monies for. I have a real thing for the roughness of the car. And the beautiful bodywork. The later generations are just too...pretty
