I am thinking about taking MA 341 (Applied Differential Equations I) in the Spring of 2010.

However, I am not sure if by taking 341, I also have to take MA 401 - Applied Differential Equation II (kinda like what you have to do w/Mathematical Analysis I and II, 425 & 426).

Does anyone know the answer to this question? Is it uncommon to only take MA 341 and not 401?

i'm not sure if you're asking for an answer just from econ majors, but i only took 341 when i was in school (as a biochem major)

425 426 are math major classes and 401 is for engineering/sciences/math. I stopped at 341. you can do that.

If you're asking specifically about econ majors I can't help there, BUT as an M.E. major, we only have to take MA 341, not 401. So, it's not mandatory for all majors.

I'm econ major also and took MA 341.

But only take it with Min Kang

Definitely dont have to take ma 401

the sequences only matter for math majors. You could take the first sequence of all of them and not have to worry about the second because you are an econ major.

^wrong. Math Majors don't have to take the sequence. Just the first one.

I'm a math major and I only had to take 341. So I'm sure you'd be fine.
