Is there somewhere locally I can rent one of these? I think I need to do this on my bike (two carbs), but I don't want to shell out $90 or so for a new one.

So I'm guessing a home-made one would do just fine? I saw an example like ^that one, but I wasn't sure how accurate it'd be.

just put some tranny fluid in it, draw a level line and balance it out

I threw one together from some PVC tubing and filled it with Marvel Mystery Oil. Getting the tubing to mate up to the port on the carb was a bit tricky, but once I got it going it worked great.

Back in the day I used to sync the twin SU carbs of my mgb by holding a piece of fuel hose to the plenum and listening to the pitch. Not very accurate but nothing on an mg was
