I'm having a tough time deciding between a few different used cars. I'm considering the following:'98 or '99 Volvo S70 sedan3rd gen. Toyota 4runnerMid to late '90s Lexus LS400Mid to late '90s Toyota Camry or AvalonI want something that won't require a whole lot of maintenance over the next several years, which seems to be the case for Toyotas and '90s Lexuses. I'm not sure about Volvos for reliability... they get mostly good reviews but the '89 740 I had several years ago needed minor things done practically every couple of months.

You can't go too wrong with a Camry or a 4Runner.The others have too much luxury bullshit that will break and not be worth fixing until the car has like 50 problems and you hate it.

Corollas are good cars but they're a little small. I wouldn't want to be in an accident in a Corolla, they probably get crushed like soda cans. Volvos are big on safety, but again, reliability is an issue with them.

and why only those models?

I love those old L400s and their springy seats. A family of friend of mine has 240k+ miles on his.

Or something cheap and disposable since you'll probably destroy it in a wreck anyways...

I am a safe and responsible driver. I keep a watchful eye out for anything that could pose a hazard, which has kept me out of a lot of potential accidents. However, there's only so much you can do to avoid unsafe drivers, which is why I desire a safe car.

Well, honestly an S70 T5 5-speed, should you actually manage to locate one, is going to be the quickest car on that list and it would probably be my choice if I were limited to the options given. That turbocharged 5 cylinder sounds really good too btw. ]

^I'm not too concerned about a zippy car, though. My '89 Volvo took an eternity to get up to 45 but I didn't care.I also forgot to mention that my wife currently has an '01 4runner. So perhaps having two would just be silly.

Oh, well then "fuck you bitch" might be have been the more appropriate response. So, here it is:FUCK YOU BITCH.

My absolute maximum budget, including taxes and fees, is 6 grand. It doesn't sound like much, but I have found quite a few of the aforementioned models in excellent condition for under 6K. Basically I want reliable, reasonably safe, and attractive and respectable-looking.

I admire your conservative outlook and low threshold for satisfaction, but am simultaneously made aware of the fact that that necessarily implies that I now know I am vain and insecure and that my passion for performance is little more than an empty game I am playing by myself without an audience to cheer me on. And so I boo you. BOOOO! BOO THREAD!
