http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=071KqJu7WVoCouldn't believe there wasn't a thread yet. Woody Harrelson's going to be awesome. Bill Murray is casted as a zombie?

It'll be hard pressed to be a better "funny zombie movie" than this:
8/19/2009 11:07:35 PM
i can't wait for this moviebut "casted"...really?
8/19/2009 11:33:30 PM

8/20/2009 8:19:56 AM
When the preview first started I got excited thinking it was SotD 2.But it wasnt
8/20/2009 9:16:49 AM
I'm curious to see it just because Woody Harrelson used his method acting in it as an excuse to attack a photographer.
8/20/2009 10:04:02 AM
so are all the zombies Usain bolt children cause they sure do run walk fastpoor mans SotD[Edited on August 20, 2009 at 10:15 AM. Reason : a]

9/20/2009 10:29:29 PM
Will be there opening night. Very much pleased with the trailers.
9/20/2009 10:47:54 PM
The thread says Oct. 9th...but every preview I see says October 2nd. This movie looks awesome, will be seeing.
9/21/2009 12:01:49 AM
^ the 2nd is correct
9/21/2009 12:06:46 AM
^^when they expect a movie to do really well they move it up sometimes
9/21/2009 12:09:26 AM
The trailers made it look like a worse version of Shaun of the Dead, with more cheap sight gags.
9/21/2009 10:09:10 PM
i went to see the sneak preview last week, and i wasn't impressed. shaun of the dead still reigns king. there were some funny parts but not enough to save it from being a dumb movie. the guy that played the lead role, jesse eisenberg, is just a poor man's michael cera, so that was really annoying. just because you're awkward doesn't mean you're funny.
9/21/2009 10:59:37 PM
Fuck that noise. This is a really solid little comedy. And make no mistake. It IS a comedy not a zombie movie. It's pretty useless to compare it to SHAUN OF THE DEAD, as that film is a 100% pure zombie movie. It's funny, sure, but it's a zombie movie.ZOMBIELAND is a comedy. It just happens to take place post-zombie apocalypse. It's also pretty righteously funny and inventive and real. There are some minor complaints to be had, sure, but this is a good, fun movie.
9/21/2009 11:33:35 PM
Shaun of the Dead is not a 100% pure Zombie filmIts a comedy that happens to occur with zombies.
9/22/2009 9:35:59 AM
shaun of the dead licks my balls
9/22/2009 9:57:05 AM
9/22/2009 1:04:35 PM
Where did I compare the two?I havent seen Zombieland so I am not going to compare them.I was just pointing out how stupid it is to say Shaun of the Dead is a 100% Zombie film when its clearly not.
9/22/2009 1:09:34 PM
so how is zombieland not a zomedy?
9/22/2009 4:18:47 PM
i will watch
9/23/2009 12:31:57 PM
yea, I too will watch
9/24/2009 8:37:22 PM
9/25/2009 9:12:49 AM
A romzomcom if you will.
9/25/2009 10:35:45 AM
I enjoyed this film, but not nearly as much as I liked Shaun of the Dead.************* slightly spoilerish info below ***********I will say this. There is a really cool surprise cameo in the film of epic proportion that nerds will gush over. And I hope that it doesn't get ruined for anyone, because being a surprise made it that much cooler.*****end spoiler***** I'd give this movie a solid 7/10.Has one of the coolest opening scenes ever.
9/26/2009 2:25:01 AM
***************just wanted to put some more room between this post and the spoiler, i don't want to be too tempted/accidentally read it. having said that, i think Shaun of the Dead is EXTREMELY overrated, it is still a pretty damn good movie, but nowhere near as good/the comedy-zombie second coming of Christ that people make out to be. Thats not to say that this will be better, i haven't seen it, but it looks pretty good to me.
9/26/2009 3:06:00 AM
man i saw this shit last night IT WAS TIGHTGO SEE IT
10/2/2009 10:11:37 AM
Already planning to go tomorrow night. Never been a big zombie movie fan, but plan to catch this and Netflix Shaun of the Dead.
10/2/2009 12:27:51 PM
my guess on the cameo is bruce cambell
10/2/2009 12:28:40 PM
so this guy I know who's an avid lover of zombie films (much like myself) said it was prolly in his top five movies of all timebit of an overstatement i know, but man do i have a boner the size of texas for this movie[Edited on October 2, 2009 at 2:13 PM. Reason : .]

10/2/2009 2:13:37 PM
10/2/2009 2:37:26 PM
Well that sucks, since Michael Cera isn't funny anyway.
10/2/2009 2:38:56 PM
Micheal Cera is a poor mans Eisenberg. Eisenberg did the insecure geek thing long before Michael Cera.
10/2/2009 10:18:28 PM
worth seeing...entertaining but not as funny as shaun of the dead. some good parts though.
10/2/2009 10:19:13 PM
I've heard it's pretty much a road movie.I really like how it takes place in a world where the zombie-ness is established and it's not new. from what i hear.want2see.
10/2/2009 10:58:04 PM
Loved it. To quote Robert Hamburger, "I popped like 200 boners" from watching this movie. Get this shaun of the dead crap out of here. No one cares.[Edited on October 3, 2009 at 12:40 AM. Reason : ]

Saw it last night, it was awesome. The cameo was really well done and unexpected, and the way it played out was hilarious. As mentioned a few posts up, the intro and opening credits were badass (Metallica - For Whom The Bell Tolls = awesome way to open a zombie movie). In fact the music throughout the entire movie was well done. The humor was well placed (You get only 45% power) and the jokes were great. The only thing about it though was that [MILD SPOILER TO FOLLOW] Most of the places they went still had power [/MILD SPOILER]. It only really bothered me though because I'm a zombie film snob. Since this was more of a comedy and not a serious zombie survival movie, it is totally acceptable. In short, A+++++ WOULD WATCH AGAIN!
10/3/2009 12:35:18 PM
I plan on buying the DVD when it comes out
10/3/2009 12:37:58 PM
10/3/2009 8:41:01 PM
Just saw it. I gotta say, solidly clever throughout the movie. I rather liked the recurring theme (and corresponding visual effect) of "the rules." Nice touch. The Bill Murray cameo was awesome, too.
