yesnoIt changed way too often, and their idea of graceful deprecation is to change the api, and turn off old api knobs, and give developers a month to change their applications. So, once you build something, you better plan on keeping up with it on a regular basis, or else it will be worthless after a little while. It was also buggy as hell, but this was ~ 2 years ago I think when I messed with it last. Could be better by now.

any ideas on how to use the Facebook API to output a list of AIM screen names of friends, like the phone book feature?

Their API is still absolute crap. The interface is terrible, documentation is nonexistent.I tried about a month ago to develop a quick application for it and I couldn't even get the test application they sent with the API to work correctly. Kept throwing errors about unrecognized commands that were deprecated. And I thought about trying again last week only to find they're using a totally new API. Rubbish

Yes, I've used it. It sucks.Even though they just changed it again, the example still doesn't work. I had to search around to find info about how to make it work. It's really cumbersome too.

That is quite horrible. I wanted to make (or pay someone) to make an app, but it sounds like it's not worth the bother.
