I would've thought it'd be done to death, but the thread search must be acting up.Some background:- Most of us are living in Ireland or London- The stag is 28 and there won't be any old dudes (father, father-in-law, etc.)- There'll be around 15/16 of us on the stag- Budget is pretty flexible (1-2k/pp easily)Ideas so far:- Eastern Europe, Paris (Rugby Heineken Cup final 2010), or Barcelona (Spain)- Vertically challenged lady handcuffed to the stag as soon as he gets off the plane (w/ various conditions and rules governing how soon - if it all - he can be detached!!) [apparently there are people in this business legitimately!!!]- Blowing up defunct tanks, jets and cows (shady, not in favor of this one!) with rocket launchers in eastern bloc countries- Hiring a yacht for during the day (we have a couple of qualified skippers on board!)Trying to avoid:- Cheesy stag crap like costumes, cheap t-shirts, etc. (we'll be getting RL polos and button downs with non-identifying short lines embroidered on the back of the collar, such as 'balls' [stag ref])- Stereotypical European destinations: nowhere in Ireland (most of us are from there), not Amsterdam (done to death by most Europeans), but maybe somewhere like Berlin (was on a good stag there in 2006)Anyone have unusual ideas please?[Edited on August 17, 2009 at 4:45 PM. oktoberfest is coming up!i like the yacht idea. maybe you guys could hire a sailboat to sail you around somewhere cool for 3-4 nights and you stay on the boat. or instead of hiring, you could just rent one.

go to prague where you pay $1.50 for a half liter of some of the best beer around. pub crawl. some great clubs there. like the 5 story one.I was at a beer festival in berlin a couple of weeks ago and we saw like 3 different british stag parties. They seemed to be having fun. but it was at a three day beer festival.Munich has the always fun hoffbrauhaus.[Edited on August 17, 2009 at 6:31 PM. Reason : .]

Sorry, I forgot Americans call them bachelor parties!!Ya, we're doing Oktoberfest too, sort of a pre-stag stag, but the main event is May/June next year. Did it last year as well with the same crew, highly recommend it!I like the idea of sailing around to a few places over 3/4 days, and I haven't seen Prague, def be up for that. Berlin is near top of my list, but I think I'd prefer eastern europe. Paris is cool, but a bit boring for a bachelor party.

Thanks for the feedback on the little person, I'm on the fence about that suggestion, it does seem a bit cruel.I'd love Vegas (never been!) but it has to be Europe for a few reasons:- The budget probably wouldn't stretch that far -- flights would be around 700 from Ireland and maybe even more expensive in summer, then there's accommodation, food, drink, etc. A weekend in Europe will probably end up costing 2-3k, but Vegas could easily be 4-5k- It's a very long way to go for a 3-4 day trip: we'd spend half the time traveling- We have one friend living in Cali and he wants to come home for the bachelor party, he's one of Jonny's two closest friends (the guy in the Marines)Good point about the yacht. We may end up doing that just during the day and heading into the city early in the evening. I think it's good to have maybe half the time with just the guys on the bachelor party (no homo) and the rest socializing with other people.[Edited on August 18, 2009 at 2:56 PM. Reason : ]

^ In my defense, we're not white in the American sense, but I see your point. I think we've decided to do Polos only now. I didn't come up with the vertically challenged idea and I'm not particularly in favor of it, but from what I've heard, "midget tossing" was legal in the US until 1989!! It is definitely an affront to human dignity, but the vertically challenged people do it of their own free will. I'm playing devil's advocate here

was kidding about the teeth...I used to live in London so I always bust chopsIceland is awesome. the blue lagoon is sweet as shit...i remember a golf course between Reykjavik and Keflavík that was build on a lava flow...the out of bounds was all black ass lava rock. reykjavick is a good drinking town and the wilderness is awesome...like gulfoss and geyser. I highly recommend going there at some time in your life
