The driver was doing between 80-100 mph. WTF? on Tryon? i know it said he was drunk, but come on. then he gets out and tries to run away. i hope they lock that guy up for a long time.

I would say 95% of all hit and run DUI fatalities involve Hispanics. Mostly because there is a good chance he is not here legally. Plus from what I have read drinking is a big part of Hispanic culture for men, and since this is the land of opportunity everybody has a car they drive.RIP Edrick you were great as a Frosh and a Wolfpack family member

I'm from Charlotte and drive Tryon quite often. Doing at least 80 on Tryon at night is amazingly stupid, I don't care if you are drunk either. Most drunk drivers wouldn't even try driving that fast on that road.

Overall, I really value the contributions Hispanics make to America. They are super hard workers and are really good people but it's certainly not just a generalization to say they make up a disproportionate percentage of drinking and driving incidents. It's just not something that's really frowned upon in their culture, similar to America's attitude 20 years ago.Coming from someone who's struggled with the same issue in my life I hope they realize the damage they are causing. America really overlooks the contributions the Hispanic community has made to the country but that shouldn't give them a free pass to murder people on the roads.

It's cool to see the drunk indian stereotype justified, too.
