Well that's certainly interesting. Sounds like we might not see much immediate splash, as the new 9-5 is pretty much complete and they will maintain ties with GM. Cool to see it back in Swedish hands though, and hopefully more individuality will be on the horizion, and less ridiculous badge-engineered "SAAB" models like the 9-2x saabaru and the 9-7x saablazer.

*I'm sure the 9-2x was probably a fine car, based on the WRX and all, but come on. And the 9-7x is even worse.

TONS of classic Saab 900s (1980's-early 1990s) would still be on the road today if it weren't for that shitty ass transmission they put in them. ^Actually Lutz has stated those rumors are false, after the G8 is canceled the Commodore will no longer be sold in the US. Speculation is that, since the UAW now owns a large piece of GM, they put the kibosh on a car produced in Australia being sold here. Also, they haven't sold well.

Rather unfortunate.
