I'm thinking of taking ECE421 with Duel-Hallen. From what I heard I should avoid the class if she's teaching it. Any idea if this is true? Is it wiser to take ECE420 with Alexander (I can't stand him) instead? I'm not interested in the material, I'm more interested in getting a good grade and doing less work.

did you just say signal processing isn't applicable to the real world?
8/6/2009 5:46:32 PM
No, I said ECE classes aren't.

maybe you should investigate the difference between engineering and engineering technology

ECE questionshould i do signal processing or RF if i want to like build guitar amps and shit.

y'all quit pretending that you don't know what the kid is trying to sayhe's an EE major, not an english major
8/7/2009 10:51:05 AM
he only cares about the application of the material and not the theory behind it, so he's cherry-picking classes he can get As in without having to work very hard or learn the coursework--he should've gone to charlotte or a&t for engineering technology...[Edited on August 7, 2009 at 11:34 AM. Reason : ^^^as far as i know she only teaches signal processing]

^^ I'm used to this kind of conversation. EE students are always trying to super-inflate their sense of self-importance. ^ I don't think there is anything wrong with cherry-picking classes.

some people go for the education; some people go for the degree

I'm glad i'm finally going for an education . This is like the first semester i'm looking forward to any specific class since like high school.I'm AstralAdvent and i approved this message.

i have found that knowledge gained in college has very little to do with performance in "the real world"[Edited on August 7, 2009 at 1:35 PM. Reason : dasf]

how much design have you done?
8/7/2009 3:25:18 PM
none, i guess i should've specified field engineeringyou knowthe guys who fix the shit when the design doesn't perform properlyOH SHIT, I THINK I JUST TURNED THIS INTO ANOTHER DESIGN VS. FIELD DEBATE THREADPUT ON YOUR BATTLE PAINT KIDDIES

nah, i'm too old to fight more than one battle at a time

I would take Alexander for any course in which he was an option.
