So I'm trying to join JobCorps and they sent me literature today indicating they need a record of all my shots for my appointment on Monday (epic fail).I have received most of my shots in Maryland (all but a meningitis shot, which I received in NC). My mom would have most of my Maryland records, but she is homeless, so the records are probably no longer in her possession. I am unable to get in touch with my dad.How would I find my medical records? Do I need to return to the original offices? My grandfather has stated I should just get all my shots redone, but that seems like a costly operation in both time and money and I don't have health insurance. The moral of the story is: don't ever be poor. Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever be poor.

If you were a NCSU student, Student Health will still have your shot record on file from when you first enrolled. If it's been a while since you were enrolled it will take them a few days to track it down.

call up the health department in maryland - usually they have a way for you to send them a copy of your license or something else to prove your identiy and then fax you a copy of your records.i did this for some EMS stuff a while back - all of my records are in wilmington and i couldn't drive home to get them, but they faxed me a copy.

I called up my doctor's office in North Carolina. They said they could fax me a medical release on Monday and I could get the records the same day. The Maryland State Department of Health said roughly the same thing.

aha. ok, my pediatrician died when i was 19 or so. he had all of my original medical records. i had already made copies for when i needed them for nc statewell, when he died so did the practice. the building was cleared and now it's a different office (like an ob-gyn or something). my mom and i didnt think twice.when i applied for grad school, we had a problem. we don't know where these records are and we can't seem to trace them.luckily NC state still had the copies and the school accepted copies of those. i have the original coppies (aha hows that for an oxymoron) in a safe right now, but they are all i have i hope i find those babies. im sure i will

Yeah, the student health center will print them out for you while you stand there if you go to the medical records desk and ask for it. You'll have to fill out a form and they charge 10 dollars for the first 50 pages and .10 for every page after that. If you were a student before they went all digital, you may have to spend some wait time on them (you can, of course, leave and go back to get them)
