trying to replace the plastic, painted cover on my right side view mirror. The part is only like $18 from an OEM site online. Here is the diagram:I need to replace Part #1 in the diagram? Will this be difficult? What is best way to do it? I dont really work on cars that much and dont wanna fuck anything up LOL

when i take apart stuff that i'm unfamiliar with, i'll take pictures of it at each stage of tear-down for reference when i'm putting it back together

I used to do that ^. but now i don't bother. and he has a diagram so f it. and it doesn't look all that complicated really if you really look at it. there's only like 4 or 5 main pieces.

yeah, i guess if you've got a good exploded assembly drawing like that, it's not really necessary

you do realize that the mirror is glued onto the backplate and you will break it taking it apart, its a fact of life, its easier to replace the whole damn assembly, three bolts, one plug and you're done
