Looking to buy a decent, dependable tower for my parents. Their HP pissed off, so they need another one. They don't exactly need to run Crysis on max, but they will want to watch videos, surf, etc. Can be a custom box or retail, looking to keep it down to a couple hundred dollar bucks.Who's got something?

I have an IBM Netvista with a P4 at 1.8ghz and 512MB of RAM, but of course I can upgrade anything if you need to and keep it definitely under $100.

Look at tiger direct. If you think you can handle putting together a custom box they do nice barebones for under 500 all the time. If not, lots of towers are 200-400 with all the name brands.

i've got half a PC if you want relatively cheap...775 motherboard, 2gb DDR2, SATA DVD+RW, power supply and the case below (without the window...it's just a standard side panel)pretty sure i have a SATA hard drive lying around (2.5" and 3.5", so take your pick)...throw a proc and OS on there and you have a small, stable machineif you're interested, i'll get you actual part numbers and specs of the components[Edited on June 14, 2009 at 3:41 PM. Reason : no window]

the mobo is an MSI P6NGM-FD (it has DVI onboard with a GeForce 7100 630i chipset, so you shouldn't need a video card unless you just want one)http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=P6NGM-FD&class=mbthe RAM is 2gb of samsung PC2-5300 DDR2the power supply is the 400 or 450w that came with the case...i'll check the burner model and hard drive options when i get home...everything's 4-5 months old, but i never really used any of it except the case

I would need to test the LGA 775 P4 processors that I have once you have purchased the SFF computer from Quagmire, I just dont feel like scrounging thru my 40 computers to find a working LGA775 pc, it would just be easier to use a working one that you already have.I could probably let it go for $20 and it would be P4 2.8ghz or higher

i got one for $40 if need be. let me know if your interested

the power supply is a 400w modular unit...the burner is a samsung SH-S203 SATA uniti have a 40gb 7200rpm seagate enterprise drive (one of the slim ones), as wellreally, all you would need is the proc...everything else should be taken care of (it's not actually put together at the moment, but i'll put it together for you if you want it)

Yeah just bring over the PC if you decide to get it and I'll get you hooked up with a P4. Unless you want a Celeron D on the cheapz.
