It really was a good car in a lot of ways, and though I was happy to pass it onto a new owner that was so excited to get it, I will miss it's marvelous engine/outstanding engine tone and response, not to mention the lack of lean and such a compliant ride for the handling/grip levels...However, it's not me that needs to admit how good that car is, it's... Mark, and I have photographic evidence! Yeap, that's Mark, with a wide grin on his face driving my now ex Corvette... In fact, he even said, and I quote:"Yeah, rwd is nice", when he got the rear end out a bit rolling on throttle in 2nd, after getting out of his souped up econobox... I mean his RACER EVO!!111

v8s are slow and gay
6/4/2009 1:02:28 AM
its still a piece of shit though but who said it can't be fun?
6/4/2009 1:10:30 AM
fwd with rear assist to make up for its curb weight isnt all bad. i thought mitsu did a good job on the evo.

Yeah, I actually do think that EVOs are really cool. It, and the S2000 are some of the very few Japanese cars I'm OK with.. BUT, man can you imagine how much fun a RWD only econobox with stiff suspension/big brakes and a manual be, it'd weigh a good bit less too... One can dream.
6/4/2009 11:20:26 AM
In fairness, Mark always has that grin on his face. Also, I'm sad you sold it before I conned you into letting me drive it while blasting some Lynyrd Skynyrd.
6/4/2009 11:34:44 AM
I'm not going to lie. the evo didn't feel any less fun after driving the vette. I thought it would but once I got right back in the Evo it didn't lose any of its wow factor. It's a fantastic car and i couldn't be happier. The vette was fun to drive though but I still like the C6 better.^hahaha yeah i do...[Edited on June 4, 2009 at 11:37 AM. Reason : .]

Well, count yourself lucky. Most cars feel downright anemic to me, after a modified Corvette...

But thats because you have yet to find a car you really love. You are never satisfied with any of your purchases

I'm not a Corvette guy, and I'm not an American car guy at all. It's just that I have no qualms giving it/them credit where it's due. That engine is very much a design achievement. The chassis is also quite the something, I'm sad that most of you didn't take me up on the offer to check it out. But, out of the 42? cars/motorcycles I've owned, only 3 were American. A Plymouth Voyager I was given when I needed a way to transport Porsche transaxles, a Saturn -which I bought cause I thought they were very cool as a car company, and the fact that they used sand/styrofoam to cast the blocks, and the Corvette. This compares to over a dozen Porsches, and about as many BMWs/VWs (wouldn't mind an old Rabbit GTi if I could find one), and a few turbocharged Saab/Volvos. Clearly I'm biased...

I'm around often during the week, just catch me...The Corvette is not for everyone, but I don't think any sane person would put down the things it does well, and that motor, ohhhh the motor.
6/7/2009 8:34:07 PM
worn out and burning oil?
6/30/2009 2:37:51 PM
Mine had over 135k miles, didn't use a drop in the 5k miles? I had it, and it was doing easy burn outs in 3rd gear. I'd guess easily over 400hp... I thought it was an outstanding motor.
6/30/2009 3:15:30 PM
^but everything that surrounds the motor is not so much classified as 'outstanding' or anything positive. p.s. are you done with my disc yet?[Edited on June 30, 2009 at 5:46 PM. Reason : .]

YepTime to get with the program on the Turbo Seven and the '66 C-10 (and sell the big Ram once the '66 is done).(RX-7 will just stay in the shed for the foreseeable future).
1/7/2014 8:42:35 PM
I think your next car should be a Pitts. The turbo seven is about the most fun you could probably have on the ground. gotta move 'up'http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/77/Pitts_Special_S-1_(NI38I)_02.jpg[Edited on January 15, 2014 at 11:36 PM. Reason : huge pic]

My office-mate just sold his Pitts S-1.I don't want a Pitts. They are fucking scary airplanes by all accounts. I need a LOT more taildragger experience first. The other problem is that the 2-seat versions are too expensive, and I don't really want a single-seat airplane.
1/16/2014 12:00:16 AM
Well that makes sense. But you know it would be fun as hell does it count as a passenger if they wing-walk?
