I cannot wait for this game. Graphics and gameplay from the E3 videos look amazing but this isn't anything new to expect from a splinter cell game.

The game looks badass, but I'm not sure I'm sold on the displaying objectives on the walls shit. That will really take me out of the character. If it's something I can toggle, like the game detects what usable surface is in my view and when I click a button it shows up then that would be sweet.

Maybe it's that way but I'm watching the video without sound.

It looks like an awesome game, but where's all the stealth? From the e3 demo he played it like a straight up shooter with about 30 seconds of hiding.

I, too, am a fan of this series. Chaos Theory was the best.

I stopped playing the new ones after I made it about half-way through Double Agent. It didn't feel like that one had a focus on stealth. There was even one mission (Kinshasa 2) where you pretty much just run and gun. That same mission is where I experienced the glitch where if you reload a save state you spawn already dead. Pretty much killed the game for me.

Any other titles come out between now and then that were actually decent?

Double Agent was the last game (not counting the PSP one I never played). So no.

I never had the save bug, and I generally like double agent. Though why he still had his little stealth indicator on his back in prison always annoyed me.

I liked the first 3 and Double Agent was pretty good. I downloaded the demo for this, but haven't played it. Gonna wait for reviews before I consider buying it though, some of the videos look pretty good though.

Demo was... ok. Not sure if this melee one guy then execute 3 will be cool or not... I liked how the controls worked in the first 4 games so I am skeptical if any big changes will be an improvement.

Graphics are sick though, and Ironside has one of the top 10 badass voices known to mankind. And top 10 badass last names.

Got it earlier this week and I just beat it. Was a fun game. Story was a bit Modern Warfareish and at times predictable but entertaining.

Haven't tried out the multiplayer yet so I'm going to try that next.

I think I'm gonna go rental on this one. I may buy it a few months from now when the price drops, I heard the single player is pretty short.

playing single player - it's cool but you die so easily

it's got a just cause 2 sort of feel to it - i always want to grappling hook up walls and jump over things but then i remember it's not jc2 haha

i'm in the scene right after the national mall getaway...is that nearly halfway through?

i just beat single player...uninstalling.

good game. the scene after securing the VP was so hard - i must have had to try it like 30 times before i finally got lucky once

i liked the ending a lot - just the message he said...it was unexpected yet simple and elegant...

I caved and got this one.

Not a stealth game by any stretch of the imagination. Almost every aspect is geared toward, and funnels you into, an action game. Over half of the unlockables are centered around killing. I remember that with old SC games the replay value was in playing sections over an over again to finish the level with 0 detections and 0 kills. They encourage a body count in this game.

A decent game, but I feel like the Splinter Cell label carries a certain expectation along with it, the expectation of a well polished stealth game. This game wasn't that. I guess they could have labeled the game with a different title (other than Splinter Cell), but that wouldn't generate the insta-sales based on the name recognition.

Also, very short. And this coming from someone that always takes a lot longer to finish games than other people. I don't remember, but it feels like there were about 5 levels.

Went ahead and bought a pretty cheap copy on Ebay. Played single player and loved it. It was way too short and I think there should've been a few levels devoted entirely to stealth since it is Splinter Cell. This almost felt more like a game based off of 24. Wonder where they'll take this from here.

Yeah, I played this offline too. I actually ended up liking the cinematography and style. It was a beautiful game. Short, yep. Never played online. Probably will never play again.
