Thoughts, opinions, personal experience? My neighbor found one, an '03 and want to purchase it. I just don't know anything about them. I drove it and liked it for the most part, a bit small for me. Weigh in TWW.

those must have been the good old days... or is your bike in the bed?
5/27/2009 12:14:14 AM
one of the most worthless vehicles ever made. Its good at nothing. It's a 2 seater that weighs 4700lbs and looks kinda like a truck? BLAH
5/27/2009 12:21:44 AM
basically my thoughts. its only saving grace is the available ls2.
5/27/2009 12:43:21 AM
looks goodtoo bad it's not made out of aluminum with more power
5/27/2009 12:55:16 AM
good side....probably a decent collectible in 30 years
5/27/2009 1:29:36 AM
^ wrong. thats what they said about the pt cruisers to.
5/27/2009 8:03:59 AM
no, no they didn't...
5/27/2009 9:29:06 AM
For it to be a good collectible it has to be a car that was strongly desired. I don't know anyone who wants an SSR. I've never seen it come up in the "which car should I buy" threads. For that reason, it's a sorry collectible. My opinion...It's overpriced for what you get and finding non-parts-bin parts is going to be a bitch as time goes on. I don't see any point in buying one.
5/27/2009 9:45:30 AM
this just made the top 10 worst cars ever made list
5/27/2009 9:52:54 AM
i've never heard a good thing about the SSR
5/27/2009 9:58:00 AM
Well he bought it, he is happy and it is just a toy to him. I doubt it will see 2-3k a year. Must be nice to be retired. I am wondering how long before I make the SSR roof repair thread!?
5/27/2009 8:51:23 PM
5/28/2009 12:11:24 AM
what the fuck does that have to do with anything? because vehicles from manufacturers that don't exist anymore never become collector's items? because pt cruisers are relevant to this thread about as much as the price of eggs in china?
5/28/2009 12:53:44 AM
Yeah I cant imagine anyone ever thinking a pt cruiser would be good in the long haul. An SSR has a better shot. I think they look kind of cool. A total waste of R&D but cool none the less. Let's outsource a subcompact design to daewoo and build an SSR. Awesome .

I drove it last night and at WOT it seemed about as quick as my old Tahoe. Good enough for him though, at least he wont be able to hurt himself in it.
5/28/2009 11:20:00 AM
that seems anemic
