it REALLY sucks ballsApparently my PITA apartment mate was shooting off his mouth about how he got himself a ps3, and games for it. He was out front smoking, one of the back room folks was home, in his room wiht the door locked, I was at work. They grabbed his ps3 and games, forced the door to my room, tossed the mattress, tried to force the big safe, and walked off with my truck safe, and about $150 worth of ammo that was with the truck safe. Looks like they left in a hurry, they did not touch the computer, and never even looked at the ammo that was in the cabinet next to the safe. Here is to hoping the stupid fucks come back while I am home.

Thats why they stole the ammo, so when they come back for the rest of it they will be ready

I'm so sorry for your loss.Sounds like your roommate deserves a swift kick in the pants.
5/26/2009 6:17:09 PM
that sucks. did you have renter's insurance? ]
5/26/2009 6:18:33 PM
Was this in the middle of the day?How did someone fuck get into your house without getting noticed by the roommate out front smoking; especially the considerable ruckus moving a fucking safe and breaking a room lock would have caused. I do not quite understand how the PITA roommate got you into this unless he was walking down the sidewalk telling your gangster neighbors what he got. Otherwise a would be thief just has to roll around a college area, find a dorky looking kid, bust in house while he's gone and $profit; as chances are he has a ps3, wii, 360, or at the least a laptop

I do have renters ins, but its a 500 deductible, this will be under that. Safe was worth maybe $80, ammo was:150 rnds 45 ACP ball, 100 rounds 45acp HP200 rounds 357 sig ball ammo5.5 72 round boxes of 7.62X25~800 rounds 22 LR ammo in open packsopen box of 3 inch magnum buckshot, and a 5 pack of 'slugger' 12 guage slugs300 rounds of blazer brass that was IN the truck safe for range day2 mixed ammo boxes that were full of 'extra' gold dot personal protection loads in 40, 357 sig, 9mm, and 32, used to top of carry magazines when i use a few of them on a range day. 22 is no loss, and the 7.62X25 is cheap stuff. The pita was the 45, 357 sig, and 9mm stuff, esp the gold dot stuff, as I don't keep much extra HP stuff on hand other than what I keep in guns. Its an apartment, the truck safe, with ammo in it, is all of 50 or so pounds, it a portable behind the seat type safe. Apparently the group kept him busy by talking and smoking with him while the others came int eh back steps at the apartment building. The cops already came, did reported, photoed, and pulled prints off the big safe in my room. The guys who played lookout apparently took off like bats out of hell as soon as the apartment mate came in, saw his games gone, and ran out to call the law. This is the shifty apartmentmate that is the reason I am looking to move out of this place, who always has shady fuckers around at all hours. So yeah, I blame his stupid ass.[Edited on May 26, 2009 at 6:28 PM. Reason : ^]

So many god damn robberies off of Gorman, this is ridiculous.
5/26/2009 7:32:34 PM
....I heard ya got robbed.I kid you not, I had this happen to me with a bike in Durham once. I was a dumbass and left it on a back porch of a girl I was dating at the time. Woke up next morning and it was gone. After the cops came and wrote the report, the black girl next door poked her head out within 1 minute after he left and was like "is everything ok?"Bitch, you know you robbed me. You didn't see shit cause you was doing shit.
5/26/2009 7:54:57 PM
What complex?
5/26/2009 7:59:50 PM
OPSEC!!Sorry to hear you got robbed.
5/26/2009 8:01:40 PM
that suck dude. maybe i'm retarded or something, but what does this mean:
5/26/2009 8:24:41 PM
4 bedroom apartment, 2 front rooms, 2 back rooms, 1 big common area kitchen/living room area. 2 front rooms got jacked, inc mine, one of the folks who lives on the side furthest form the front door was home, in his room on the computer, with the door locked up, he was not aware that the robbery had happened until the cops rolled up.
5/26/2009 8:29:17 PM
The safe was pretty useless.... You should of just had everything laying around, that safe was pretty useless.[Edited on May 26, 2009 at 9:21 PM. Reason : w]

the safe WAS used for my truck. It had a spot behind either seat where it could be bolted down. I have been on federal jobs the past few weeks, so it gets to live at home.
5/26/2009 9:59:26 PM
^^sucks man, hate to hear this shit. sounds like your roomie deserves a swift kick in the nuts.
5/26/2009 10:25:22 PM
sounds like it could have been a lot worse for yoube thankful you still have your computer and are trying to get out of the living situation. in the meantime i would leave valuables at a trusted friend's place while you get into a new spot.
5/26/2009 11:07:03 PM
were the robbers "minorities"
5/27/2009 12:17:46 AM
did your roommate at least get a good description of the guys out front?[Edited on May 27, 2009 at 2:06 AM. Reason : .]

This sounds like a sketchy living arrangement that you should be able to convince the landlord to break the lease for.Perhaps... Just tell them your roommate is a moron who isn't very smart about safety and, as a result, attracts the wrong kind of friends which attracted the wrong kind of people who then broke into your apartment.Either sketchball roommate will go or you will go. If the landlord is reasonable they should be willing to help you out.
