I have a Dell Inspiron 5150 that needs to have the fan replaced. Apparently it is a really common problem with this model and I have had it done several times before while the computer was under warranty. Well the fan is bad again and the warranty has expired. I am looking for suggestions on who can replace the fan and how much I am looking at spending? I have already ordered the fan and I should have it in a few days. Also, I might want to upgrade the RAM while I'm at it as well. Right now the computer only has 512mb....I know absolutely nothing about this kind of stuff so I don't know where to begin on this. I did a search on ebay for RAM for my model and it looks like I can get either another 512, or a single 1G, or even 2-1g's...Any suggestions? I would also need someone to install that as well...I assume the same person could do both? Thanks for your help!

changing memory in a laptop tends to be retardedly easyhere's a video for the 5150 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-EO8qrczvYthe fan's a bit more difficult but there are how tos on line for it http://www.joetech.com/2007/10/10/how-to-replace-a-dell-inspiron-laptop-heat-sink-and-fan-assembly/your call on if you can handle these two things...it probably shouldn't take a competent person more than 20 minutes to do both[Edited on May 25, 2009 at 12:41 AM.
