So I just found 2 baby birds (old enough to be out of the nest, i.e. in the fledgling stage). One was, unfortunately, partially runover in the road. The other was beneath this large oak tree by the road/driveway. I saw/heard no parent birds in sight, or any other small birds. Lots of websites say to leave the bird there, but I was outside for a good while and saw no parent birds. Theres 4-5 cats that live at the house across the street, and they roam the neigborhood, so I didnt want the poor thing to get picked off by one of them...

should I just put him back outside under the tree in a little makeshift nest in a basket, call one of those wildlife folks or what?? HALP!

just leave it out there. if a cat eats it so what. animal control doesn't need to waste time with a baby bird that will die anyway.

Should have let nature run its course, birds that cant fly get eaten its pretty simple

It's technically illegal to take in wild life, including wild birds. I would either leave him and let nature take its course or call or drop him off at the wildlife rescue.

When Phil found a baby bird with conjuctivitis he took it to PWC and they treated and released it.
