What happened to Australia?

Be sure to bring your Scott Walker Canes jersey
5/14/2009 11:49:46 PM
one of my good friends lives up there - if you're in the actual city rent will be expensive just about anywhere
5/14/2009 11:53:28 PM
^^bahahI'm back from Australia. The research project my gf was working on there ended, and i didn't land the job i was after due to a hiring freeze. Yeh we're moving to Boston city and in with a friend of ours for now. My gf and I are both looking for jobs there now and i'm doing the distance ed Masters of Engineering thing through NCSU. So rent will be cheap while we live with him and get setup. It's such a nice city, i can't wait.

1 year ago today I was moving into Cambridge... it was a freaking awesome summer...It's bloody 88 there today though
5/21/2009 6:51:07 PM

5/27/2009 12:39:21 AM

6/25/2009 9:56:45 PM

^ i have one of those! bought it after the sam adams tour. best free tour ever!i am also planning to move to boston eventually. fell in love with the town many moons ago when i was a freshman in high school. turns out, my future wife would like to live there as well. i found it to be rather serendipitous, actually...
7/8/2009 10:53:27 PM
My friends who i moved in with have a set of those glasses, too. Pretty awesome. I also went on the tour a few months ago while visiting. Also toured the Harpoon brewery.Indeed, so far Boston has been awesome. I'm so much happier here already. Everyone i meet is impressively smart, no fat people , really pretty city, great music scene, everyone is really nice, lots of active people. My streets are full of walkers, joggers, bikers, dog walkers. No joke, i've probably randomly talked to more people here out walking around than in Raleigh. My advice: gtfo of Raleigh.
7/9/2009 11:25:58 AM
I'm sorry, but saying what you just said about Boston is nothing more than a troll. If you haven't found a "fat" person that's not "active" then you haven't been looking hard enough. That's like saying there's no one there that smokes cigarettes. What kind of shit is that? It sounds like you've had some repressed issues about Raleigh or something. Are there any bums in Boston? Raleigh has those!!! OMG!!!
7/9/2009 11:45:23 AM
I'm obviously generalizing. But sorry, its pretty foolish to say that NC isn't a fat state. I also spent the past three months in Goldsboro that is probably 70% fat asses chewing their cuds in walmart. But again, i generalize. I like Raleigh. Its definitely a smarter place to live financially. But that makes more sense when i have kids. Sorry, but there's very little awesome in Raleigh except cheap houses. Sounds to me like you're a little overly defensive about Raleigh. Maybe defensive about fat people, too. Are you fat? What about the dog walkers i mentioned? there are plenty of those in Raleigh. And cyclists too. Friendly people?
7/9/2009 1:01:06 PM
I liked Boston quite a bit when I visited. Seems like it could be a really fun place to live. I'd freeze my ass off in the winter, though. Also I'm overweight so I guess I'd have to slim down before I tried to live there.
7/9/2009 3:11:50 PM
Also, I feel that the glass shown above is one of the most pretentious things I've ever seen in my life. But I won't hesitate to at least try it, because I do like some Sam Adams.
7/9/2009 4:45:54 PM
I agree. and theyre pretty damn expensive from what i remember. Drinking beer out of them does make me feel awesome though. Its not that fat people can't live in Boston (or any city. i'm obviously joking here guys) its that being in a city makes you walk your ass off and hence you become less fat. That and when you have to carry your groceries home, you can long afford to carry half gallons of ice cream. I lost like 15lbs in Australia. I was getting a bit pudgy from cubicle life in Cary.
7/9/2009 6:33:23 PM
i seriously can't wait to start the job search in boston... matter of fact, you got any leads on IT or consulting openings? i'll be done with my MBA in may
7/10/2009 8:06:26 AM
Sure don't I'm afraid. But i will report that its another beautiful 74degree and sunny day outside. Its about 40/60 split between thunderstorming and being perfect outside.
7/10/2009 10:58:33 AM
I just got a job in Boston, MA....well Lexington. Moving by end of August.
8/5/2009 4:13:57 AM
I'm there in 20 more days
8/5/2009 2:17:16 PM
^^,^ cool guys, you'll love it.Will you guys be living in Boston and commuting? I'll be commuting from Brookline to Wilmington starting Wednesday. Lexington is closer (from the west side of Boston) than Wilmington.Since my last post its stopped raining here and has gotten a bit warmer. up to 88 a couple days, normally low '80s. This weekend will be awesome, clear and in the '70s.[Edited on August 7, 2009 at 10:13 AM. Reason : fdfd]

^^^ Where are you working? I've been working at MIT for almost 2 years doing Lab Automation. You going to live in the burbs or do the reverse commute?and the sam adams glass works, trust me....even with PBR(don't judge, rent is expensive)
8/7/2009 10:26:51 AM
^^ I'll be living in Cambridge and going to Harvard Law. It is going to be weird with no A/C after being in NC for so long, but since I'll mainly be there Sept-May I guess I won't really need it.
8/8/2009 1:10:11 AM
Harvard Law, wow
8/8/2009 1:21:17 AM
it cools down pretty well at night. I haven't put my A/C unit in yet, we'll see how long I last. The fun part is in the winter when you live in an old place you can't control the heat......so you open the windows. I'd say I am shirtless about 75% of the time that I am at home.
8/8/2009 11:36:14 AM
me and peejay's other roommate is a Harvard Med student. smart folks around here. It'll be clear and in the mid '70s all weekend. its awesome.
8/8/2009 11:42:23 AM
yup, I'm going to the beach to watch the airplanes fly in also, we have an alumni group up here, join the email list!!! http://www.alumni.ncsu.edu/clubs/club.php?cg=national&id=23

Great city... I got married up there back in March, and may find myself living there some day. Here are a few pictures from the trip. It is such a beautiful city. It was crazy weather while I was there. It was snowing at the beginning of the week, and short sleeve weather for the end half the week. (the same was sort of true for NC though, we had snow down here the day my flight left - my first flight was canceled b/c of the snow, and when I came back a week later it was upper 80's in NC)
8/9/2009 10:05:54 AM
AHHH, we were up in Boston last weekend, cool pictures.
8/15/2009 9:00:16 PM
