I also need a graphics card to go with the motherboard and maybe some RAM. What are my best options? I'm helping a friend build two-three computers to support Xubuntu. (Why we're getting new parts, I don't know, but Xubuntu is being very temperamental right now.)[Edited on May 4, 2009 at 2:08 PM. Reason : a]

You seem to already understand how silly this is, but there's no reason to purchase new components.A RAM upgrade? For Xubuntu? Really? You realize that's Ubuntu-lite, right?

Yeah, I know... The motherboard is dead, so we definitely need a new one. The old one was a PV-450X.I guess the RAM is for flair.[Edited on May 4, 2009 at 2:09 PM. Reason : a]

Then just get any compatible mobo and stick it in there, you don't need any advice. It's a ridiculously light OS, it isn't going to stress any system built in the last ten years.

As it turns out, the board is supposed to support Xubuntu AND Windows and mild levels of gaming. My friend ended up going with this:http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3797456&CatId=13Intel DG35EC Motherboard
