5/8/2009 12:36:38 PM
i was just watching the trailer and im pretty excited about this too
5/11/2009 3:26:25 PM
FYI the director, Neill Blomkamp, was the one that made the Halo: Landfall live-action shorts back when Halo 3 was coming out.Peter Jackson had picked him to direct the Halo movie, but the studios pulled funding because he had never directed a feature film, just a little short film about aliens in South Africa...

here is the new, full trailer:http://www.trailerspy.com/trailer/4568/District-9-Trailer-HDlooks like it could be pretty fucking cool
7/9/2009 1:17:14 AM
meh
7/9/2009 11:23:52 AM
I think I'm more excited about this movie than even HP6. It definitely seems in line with the kind of dystopian cyberpunk (biopunk?) sci-fi crap that I really love.
7/10/2009 4:34:47 AM
i'll tell you this. if something like that were to happen we'd fuck ourselves just like that. if they actually meant us no harm originally and their buddies came to find them and saw what we were doing it'd be over.
7/10/2009 10:16:24 AM
looks neat to me. i'm gonna see it
7/27/2009 8:33:07 AM
previews look interesting.
7/27/2009 11:38:02 AM
could be good
7/27/2009 11:40:42 AM
Reminds me of Half Life 2
7/27/2009 1:12:10 PM
It would be the first new original true sci-fi movie in a while, if it turns out like it looks like it could turn out.

I saw the preview on tv the other day and was surprised I hadn't heard more about. I think it looks pretty good! But I'll still wait until it comes out on dvd.
8/2/2009 6:24:45 PM
essentially this is going to be another movie about humanity being the worst fucking kind of evil in the universe.its like the south park episode with the pinewood derby and the space cash
8/2/2009 8:20:17 PM
pretty psyched about this movie. everything i've heard about it has been positive.
8/2/2009 8:55:25 PM
until peter jackson screws something up, he's gets the james cameron treatment.like james cameron, if his name is on it in a substantial way, i will assume it's going to be amazing.we'll see friday...
8/10/2009 8:38:29 AM
word on the streets is that there are a lot of secrets in district 9
8/11/2009 3:06:45 PM
im excited about this too. bring on the alien movies.
8/11/2009 4:04:04 PM
the twist is that the director is actually m night shymalan. the twist ont he twist is that the aliens are actually time traveling humans from the future. the twist on that twist? it is actually all the imagination of a ghost who wasnt ready to die yet.
8/11/2009 7:36:13 PM
and the twist on the twist on the twist on the twist is that the ghost was killed by the trees emitting poison
8/11/2009 7:42:51 PM
twist on that...the trees...were actually aliens, so what we thought about this movie ORIGINALLY was the right answer. so clever M
8/11/2009 9:15:54 PM

i saw it here in charlotte...i liked it, though i wasnt expecting it to be as much of an action movie for whatever reason. good flick though.
8/14/2009 12:43:22 AM

8/14/2009 2:26:30 AM

8/14/2009 3:36:05 AM
8/14/2009 8:00:20 AM
yea that's how they list midnight showings for the day on that site lol
8/14/2009 10:09:15 AM
one thing i didnt understand, and i dont think this is a spoiler but i'll label it as such just in case:SPOILERwhere were all the alien weapons coming from? were they making them there, or were they already on the ship? cause if they were on the ship, i imagine that would've meant the humans would've brought them down and there would've been a limited amount. enough where you'd think the trading would've died down after 20 years. if they were making them, were they really so standard that they could make them from scrap parts?
8/14/2009 1:13:35 PM
************answer to the not really a spoiler question*************i don't think any of the non-humans were capable of making anything aside from christopher. I'm assuming the weapons remaining in district 9 were the ones that the humans had missed/had been smuggled off the ship. it didn't really seem like the nigerian guy had that many alien weapons as opposed to MNU which seemingly had stockpiles.************end to the not really a spolier answer*******************[Edited on August 14, 2009 at 1:21 PM. Reason : ]
8/14/2009 1:20:17 PM
******it wouldnt surprise me if they made them in the slums, as quickly as Christopher made that bomb at the MNU HQ building********
8/14/2009 6:57:32 PM
******^agreed******Pretty good movie, but I was disappointed at the way it devolved into a mindless, mediocre action flick at the end.CATFOOD
8/14/2009 10:48:32 PM
Loved it
8/14/2009 11:19:53 PM
i think it was a fantastic movie. it kinda made a social statement but had enough action in it to keep the non thinkers entertained.
8/15/2009 12:05:39 AM
i was actually pretty pumped about the mindless action toward the end. best of both worlds.cat food!
8/15/2009 12:11:57 AM
^^^**********christopher was a remarkably smarter alien than all of the others, so no, i doubt they made the weapons. they said that all the leaders had died and every prawn left was a mindless drone. chris was a leader in hiding trying to fix the fuel problem and stay undercover.and o the action, it was annoying that the mech suit on autopilot was god mode, and with van wilder or w/e it was a complete noob. makes complete sense, but kind of irritating why it couldnt stay on autopilot**********
8/15/2009 12:51:43 AM
SPOILERI don't think Wilkus ever returns to being human since Christopher should know the fastest way (3 years) to restore him would be to have him come on the ship. This is because, due to the theory of relativity, Wilkus would have to wait much longer if he stays on Earth.[Edited on August 15, 2009 at 1:06 AM. Reason : ]
