Im moving to England in Aug. for 2 yrs and am looking to purchase an LCD TV. From my research online, the multi-system models available of brands such as Samsung tend to be older (and more expensive) versions of more current models available here with higher contrast ratios and usually cheaper. My alternative is to buy an American TV and use a converter to convert the picture format. Anybody have any experience with one or the other?

why don't you just buy a PAL TV in the UK, and sell it before you move back?it'll be a pain in the ass, not to mention expensive, to move it there and/or back.[Edited on April 29, 2009 at 12:25 AM. Reason : asfd]

Considering that too. However, all of my moving expenses are covered and the buying power of the dollar isnt very good over there. Might end up doing that though.

Ok, well regardless of price I do want the TV to be able to view english broadcasting as well as programming I place-shift from the US (i.e. Sling Box).
