Old thread is dead. Saw this on Friday and thought it was great. Good documentary style movie covering a lot of different animals, but specifically a Polar Bear family, Elephant family and Whale family.http://www.apple.com/trailers/disney/earth/Definitely recommend seeing it. Also there is an "Oceans" movie coming out by BBC/Disney next year on Earth Day.

it looks like clips from planet earth to me with different narration?how is this going to be successful? ]]

yeah, looks cool, and i hope it helps get people interested in science and conservation and stuff, but it seems strange to me to make a movie out of what is basically shown all day on Discovery HD, Nat Geo, TLC, etc

that's true. ..... but i'm pretty sure this was narrated by Morgan Freeman. apparently he is the new Old Black Man with an Authoritative Voice

I went last night. It was okay I guess even if you've seen Planet Earth. Some awesome shots and James Earl Jones narrating was great.

I've seen Planet Earth, Blue Planet (IMAX) and I think about every other nature show on Discovery, NGC, etc. I still enjoyed watching this movie and don't think you can beat watching it on a big screen rather than your tv.
