Made me a little sad, I'll admit it.

They're also killing off the V cars from Cadillac, which seems to me a colossal mistake. Since the late 90s, Cadillac turned into a viable alternative to many luxury/sporty cars with the V series. It's one of the few profitable divisions w/in GM and they won't leave it alone. Just like Saturn, GM gives a brand some freedom, the brand becomes profitable, then they kill everything that appeals to people about that brand, turning them into another cookie cutter brand. History repeating...

I picked up one on the cheap yesterday

I asked the dealer what he thought about the Pontiac brand being slashed (after we signed all the paperwork and everything, so he had no reason to lie) and he said that he thought the G8 would stick around and be rebranded to another GM brand.

Yes, I don't see the G8 dying. It will be sold as the Chevy Lumina, or maybe, just maybe, GM will wisen up and bring Holden to the US.

CR8

And they look fucking awesome, and are very popular with the young folks.

It's not sold here yet, you'll notice the car I posted is right hand drive.

Anyway, I believe it's in testing, and will be sold here when Pontiac is out. That's my guess. The Grand Am race at VIR yesterday they were announcing the "400+hp RWD 6 speed manual sedan", but as the G8 from Pontiac. We were hanging out with Stevenson, who's campaigning a GXP with a 570+hp motor, and rwd. Weird indeed...

The only thing I don't like about my G8 GT is the knob you have to turn to recline the seats all the way back. That sucks for long trips when you want to nap in the passenger seat.

Its beyond me why they'd sell the G8 as a Chevy Lumina. Why not Impala? All the Luminas ever sold were complete shit. And the current Impala is a POS inferior to the Malibu in every way.

^^ Back in Highschool there was this really creepy ass college dude who drove a Z34 Lumina to pick up this girl in my class who was like 17. He would come get her after school maybe 4 times a week, and be waiting there as the bell rang. I think he was at least 21.

And then one of the two gay guys in my graduating class drove the aforementioned hand-me-down Lumina sedan.
