You can't really deny the slant here. There is no good reason for this girl to get even a 5 second spot on CNN, let alone an actual segment about this unless they are trying to be anti republican.
4/19/2009 2:46:35 PM
i've really liked some of the things she has been saying and writing lately about the future direction of the party. it's not anti-republican, its a call to action.

there aren't a lot of people who are getting any play in the press that the party should be more inclusive to stay true to conservative ideals
4/19/2009 8:06:17 PM
?steve schmidt? (the old mccain campaign guy) had a big speech about how the republican party should be more accepting of gay marriage, etc. i'll see if i can find that speech. . .here it is:http://politics.theatlantic.com/2009/04/steve_schmidts_speech_the_full_text.phpexcerpts:

oh come on - she's not going to win Miss America anytime soon, but she is blonde, buxom and fair-skinned. That's enough to be featured on cable news
4/19/2009 9:27:24 PM
So she's blonde, knows little about politics but remains a cheerleader for the republicans none-the-less? Well hell, she'd fit right in over at Faux News.

"hey guys i'm a trendy liberal college student that likes to make fun of fox news with tired cliches. I'm not sure why I hate fox news, but all my friends do, and thats good enough for me. does anyone have any che guevera shirts I could borrow? i'm going to an anti-globalism protest next week. i'm not sure what globalism is, but there's sure to be some hot chicks there i'd like to meet."
4/19/2009 11:03:20 PM
well, i, for one, have been watching Fox News all week, since it's on constantly at my grandmother's house. I can confirm the cliches are true.....the morning show is the worst. 2 minutes of fear mongering, 1 minute of christians being persecuted, 3 minutes of how Obama is destroying america, another minute of fear mongering, 2 minutes of this damn PC culture we're in, etc.
4/19/2009 11:08:59 PM
4/20/2009 12:11:00 AM
i'd say a lot of fox is on par with the daily show
4/20/2009 12:13:51 AM
which seems to be a staple source of news for the "faux news" crowd, so what's the big deal.
4/20/2009 12:16:00 AM
Because The Daily Show's byline is "the most trusted name in fake news", and Fox News says "fair and balanced"
4/20/2009 12:19:55 AM
well you know, if one crowd gets their news from a fake news source and the other people get their news from another source which has about the same quality reporting...... does either side really have anything to say to the other? no. I'm eating poop from a bag that is labeled poop but I laff at you for eating poop from a bag that says pretzels. Oh wait, we're both eating poop besides, fox news can always just fall back on the NYT excuse: "you're confusing the editorials with the reporting <whine whine whine>"[Edited on April 20, 2009 at 12:28 AM. OMG!!!! CNN IS HIRING A PERSON WITH ZERO QUALIFICATIONS TO COMMENT ON POLITICAL AFFAIRS!!!??? EVERYONE KNOWS THAT CABLE NEWS NETWORKS SHOULD ONLY HIRE FORMER SPORTSCASTERS LIKE KEITH OLBERMAN TO COMMENT ON POLITICS!!!!! Listen, if you want informed opinions on new matters you can find it. On TV there is "This Week" (where Paul Krugman is routinely called in to lay major pwnage on the entire panel) or Meet the Press (yes it is still good, even if Gregory isn't Russert). If you can't find time to watch these shows there is The Economist. If want loud-mouths/celebreties/comedians/sportscasters opining on current events, well you can find that too. Welcome to America, friend. Where people are allowed to have diff tastes.

^^^ is Fox New's commentary meaningless? I'm pretty sure when people talk about Fox News' ratings, their commentary shows are included. Not to mention it's the most high-profile part of their network. And is there any left-wing commentary show that's as far left as Fox's commentary is right? Even Bill Maher, if you've ever seen his show, always gives the righties he has on room to speak, not to mention that there isn't really a lot of the shouting and anger that you see on Fox.Socks`` is right though, in that all of the cable news network are pretty much terrible, and people can choose really terrible Fox over terrible CNN if they want to. But there's no sense in pretending that Fox News doesn't go to great lengths to twist what they can.

^ i only recently got HBO, and for as crazy as maher is portrayed as being, i've actually been very impressed with how relatively even he is (except when it comes to religion). One strange thing I've noticed though is that the righties on his show will say very middle-of-the-road things, then the next day when Fox is interviewing them, they're back to the batshit insane far-right rhetoric again. That on conservative magazine editor being the clearest example in my memory.[Edited on April 20, 2009 at 3:00 PM. Reason : ]

Basically for me it just comes down to respect. Fox News does not seem to respect the other side of issues calling names, insinuating things that are not true and bullshit like that. I would really like to see a collage of MSNBC and the crazy/stupid left stuff they say, I have a feeling it would be mainly rants about their competitor, Fox News.
