I know a couple guys have one. So ya'll still like them after driving for a few months? What is the fuel mileage like. My local Pontiac dealership has 2 on the lot, a black and a red GT. The wife really likes the red one, and it wouldn't take much twisting of my arm to get me to go down there and pick it up.

After having mine since Jan I absolutely love it. I get ~28 mpg highway and that isn't trying to get decent mileage, city is worse (around 18-19) but that is because most the driving I do is bumper to bumper. I drove to the beach last weekend and the mix of city and highway netted me around 23 mpg total. Nothing to rave about but when you have a 6.0 V8 then it is pretty good. If you want to know anything else give me a holler.

^^Thanks I can search, but it was locked. Wanted to know how skywalkr and the other guy were liking them over the span of a few months now.

my mom test drove one, and ended up getting g6 instead

When I was at Enterprise I drove a lot of G6's. My wife liked those, so I think thats what I am going to get her. The G8 would be the car for me though. [Edited on April 17, 2009 at 4:52 PM. Reason : ]

get a supercharged one

wait and get the SLP Firehawk

wish the g8 st was still coming. I like the g8 gt though. If it'd been available when I was shopping for my LS v8, I probably would have gotten a g8 instead. Too bad there's no manual or GPS. Aside from those things, that car is a peach. wtf is wrong with ppl that that car doesn't sell?GM should've just sold it as a holden here or something. I think too many ppl are just pontiac-averse.

Yeah, it's because it's a pontiac.I think they're pretty nice looking cars as well, and you get a lot for your money. It'll probably be a decade before any of the US brands get some brand recognition and satisfaction headed back there way. Everybody just tards out and says "OMG ALL US CARS ARE TRASH" without looking at the fact that, while they are not better than their competing japanese counterparts for reliability, they are pretty damn reliable (very close to the top companies) and will certainly be reliable, long lasting cars.

If I had to buy a family sedan, you better damn well believe that I'd buy a G8. Wouldn't even consider anything else.

My wife and I are looking at the G8 GT. The only annoyance I've found so far is the stupid knob that you have to turn to recline the seats. Other than that it seems like a wonderful car. We're trying to find the best deal now before we buy.

manual or power seats?
4/24/2009 2:14:59 PM
I don't mind manual. How often do you adjust your seats that it really needs to be powered... Really... [Edited on April 24, 2009 at 3:15 PM. Reason : .]

my seats and mirrors adjust when i put my key in, its a godsend if your gf drives your vehicle
4/26/2009 1:54:10 AM
The seats are power except for the recline. If you want the seat to recline, you have to turn this hard to reach knob like 100 times to get the seat to recline.Anyhow, we bought one yesterday. Got a really good deal too.

define "good deal"
4/26/2009 11:30:21 AM
Total out the door cost (including tax, tag, dealer fees) was $1500 under invoice. Plus we got 4.14% on a 60 month loan.

gonna be a classic soon
