According to Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-cigarette, these e-cigarettes are tobacco-free. The cigarette electronically vaporizes a nicotine solution, including food additives. In the United States, e-cigarettes are not FDA approved. In Australia and Hong Kong, the sale of electronic cigarettes is illegal; in the United Kingdom, e-cigarettes are allowed in a night club that prohibits the smoking of tobacco. With the recent ban on smoking in North Carolina, should local businesses allow this alternative?

There was an articvle on these in Washington Post yesterday. Apparently, tobacco ban does not apply to them, and there is no combustion, so you can basically smoke them just about anywhere.

I tried them at a convention in Vegas. They are nasty and not worth the time or money. The one i looked at had to be refilled with cartridges that were not cheap.
