I have the Scientific Atlantic Explorer 8,300HD box with the CLIKR-5 UR5U-8800L universal remote controlling all tv and cable features. I have been using my stereo remote seperately for surround sound and to do so has required me to use 2 remotes every time I want to use the tv. I want to program the CLIKR-5 remote's AUX to operate the stereo to eliminate having to use two remote controls. The problem is every time I follow the set up procedures from the remote operating instructions I can't get everything to work in unison. The instructions say I am to enter a 3 digit code but whenever I hold down the AUX button in unison with the (ok/sel) per instructions no space to enter the code is given. Also I've just tried typing them in on the remote and nothing happens. The stereo is a Sony DAV-HDX576WF..does anyone have any experience with this and if you could give me some advice I'd appreciate it. I've searched all over google and haven't found anything to help besides the universal remote operating instructions manual.http://www.universalremote.com/resources/pdfs/UR5U-8800L.pdf[Edited on March 27, 2009 at 3:24 PM. Appreciate the input but I'd like to do it via the remote I already own.

^^would really be the best option. the SA remotes are ok, but don't work with a lot of devices.just bust out and get one of those $800 lcd remotes that controls everything

well damn the logitech 880 does look pretty bad ass but i know there is a way to do this with the remote i already own! i've seen stereo receivers operate via similar TWC remotes...where there is a will there is a way! [Edited on March 27, 2009 at 5:58 PM. Reason : ]

i have the harmony one and i don't see how i ever lived without it. u don't have to get the 880 . there are a few other models that can do what you want for a lil less $ but my harmony is one of the best ht investments i've made to date.

I've got the harmony xbox 360 universal remote (it's got additional yellow, bue, green, and red buttons) and it's great. the button layout isn't perfect, but it suits me well.
