^I felt the same way. I played the COD5 beta (yeah i know it was just a beta) and it didn't inspire me to buy the game. Still enjoying the hell out of COD4 and didn't waste the money on WaW. Now I'm glad I didn't and I'm stoked about MW2. This will make the wifey's early Christmas present shopping a little easier.

WaW has it's faults but it's still a fun game. I think what i enjoy most is putting myself in tougher situations in WaW. I use the bolt action rifle, scopeless, all the time now when i play. I just love getting that rush when i get the bead on a guy and put one shot into his dome while he's trying to spray me. That being said, i havent touched either in probably 2 months.


Dammit, are you still playing either with any regularity? I'd like to get some group matches going once again

actually it was quite the contrary to me, WaW felt exactly the same and was really easy to get used to. I just personally didn't think it offered much that was new or that much better, just felt like a different skin for COD4, and I liked the MW skin better, so I stayed with COD4. To each his own though.

I still play COD4 pretty regularly... more regularly than a grown ass man with wife/house/job/dog should.

new and/or different, I'm ok with. I'm not ok with inferior products. The guns aren't as diverse as COD4 and I don't like the maps as much, plus (and this may be b/c I didn't play COD4 when it first came out) there was way too much glitching going on in WaW.

Jeepin, I'll probably play some from time to time, but I'm hooked on NHL09 and their team play mode. It's fucking amazing.

I must say that Treyarch (moar like gheyarch) is the worst developer in the history of bad developers. All they had to do is take COD4 (awesome) and make it WWII style (awesome) and they somehow fucked it up. worst spawn system, terrible weapons balancing, terrible matchmaking, glitches up the wazu, and they were completely unresponsive to criticism. still fun, just some frustrations caused by problems that should not have happened.

What about Titus? They made Superman 64. SUPERMAN FUCKING 64. And you're gonna say Treyarch is worse than that? People actually BEAT World at War. Furthermore, beating WaW wouldn't be considered anything out of the ordinary. If you beat Superman 64, and this is one of the only games you can say this for, you have fucking PROBLEMS. It's that fucking bad. Let that fact alone (c'mon, it's a fact, just play ball here) set the tone here.

CoD:WaW was not that bad (mostly because it had the Infinity Ward's CoD4 engine to coast on), but Treyarch still deserves the hate. They're one of the worst well-known developers out there.

theres a good sized article about this in the latest Game informer. all the pics seemed to be arctic-style settings and such. It focused mostly on single-player mode. They did mention a "special forces" mode thats supposed to be greatly increased difficulty, might be fun. It seems that IW is keeping most of the MP details quiet for now (at least until E3 i'm assuming).

Having 4 grenades land at your feet from enemies 500 yards away is a bit much...

The entire point of veteran is to be ridiculous, it's the hardest mode in the game. If it were easier I would have been disappointed with it. The challenge of Veteran mode is awesome.

It's also one of the few games in which playing single-player (veteran, anyway) will actually make you better at multiplayer. In many other games, FPS especially, even the hardest mode is just about learning how to work around the AI and how to do cheap shit that it doesn't know about.

I wasn't as excited as I thought I would be, I guess I'm tired of the Zakhaev plotline, was hoping for something a bit more fresh, though the various locations could be interesting

I'd like to see a CoD that is almost entirely special forces stalking around at night and all that badassery

kind of like the helo-ing onto the ship at sea and grabbing Al-Asad missions in MW

of course most of you are only about the multiplayer anyway, I never got into it as much

I definitely didn't give two shits about the multiplayer...only one shit. The fact that you can't play it split screen on Live completely throws it out for me, especially considering that I live in an apartment with roommates who always want to jump in and play. I might not even get this game because of it and just rent it for the single player.

If you don't play on xbox live then all the CoD games are only worth a rental.

True. I did enjoy the CoD4 multiplayer to a point, except some matches just got plain retarded spawns and camping problems to the point it was more of a headache trying to do well that I just stopped playing it online...I think. I'm pretty good at FPSs in general, but I was mediocre at best on this system. The Primary/secondary presets plus the RPG element was pretty cool though
