1995 Nissan MaximaCrank it and it runs while in park and voluntarily may cut off.Then you can get it to run and it will sputter and hesitate and wont get over about 2000 RPMs feels like its got a hang in the thingany of you know what may be wrong?

took it by advanced to get battery and alt checked they r fine.its obd1 so they couldnt do a system scan.feels like either fuel pump or injectors...but just a guess.anyone else?

does it run in park if you keep your foot on the gas?if it does, then cuts off when you let off the gas, it might be your IAC valve. usually an easy/cheap fix.[Edited on March 23, 2009 at 6:09 PM. Reason : .]

most cars you can just unplug the MAF and it will default to speed density mode or something similar and at least run better than it would with incorrect readings from the MAF. worth a shot anyways

I had a 96 Maxima with the exact same symptoms, replaced the knock and oxygen sensors and it was cured.
