k, only watched the clips first, then just watched the trailer. Is this a serious thing? Is he like, the new JCVD? Does he really think he's a good actor, etc? If so, yeah, I suppose it's kinda funny. Otherwise, it's just a poor joke.

^ He was a character on Ali G before then, but the idea that this guy spent six million dollars of his own money to copy Borat when they are not similar does not really make sense to me. Watching this movie knowing that he funded this with personal money, had an original soundtrack made for this movie, submitted it to the oscars, and is dead serious about his vision is enough to make this a once in a lifetime movie experience. This movie is a paradox - both the best and worst movie you will ever see.

it's funnily bad in the same way that lots of shitty movies are funny. see: the core or battlefield earth.

the director is pulling some serious revisionist history to make it seem like he's not the idiot he was for sinking so much money into a shitty movie.

of course, he'll probably end up making money on it now that it's gained a cult following.

I just saw this movie tonight and was flabbergasted at how awful it was. It went way beyond "Battlefield Earth" bad. This movie was like a really poorly made HBO late night softcore porno with less sex and plot cohesion.

I laughed my ass off and recommend it to anyone with a sense of humor who realizes that it's supposed to be serious, not hilarious.

Also planning to turn it into a drinking game. Take a shot every time somebody says "best friend" or "I don't love Johnny anymore." Just make sure to call a hospital/funeral home before you start so they can get ready for you.
