Tenchu

really?in my experience, any sort of 40+ hour JRPG is pointless after a few days of inactivity. best played in one sitting.
3/15/2009 9:32:17 PM
grown men dont have time to play video games for two days straight
3/15/2009 9:33:22 PM
which goes pretty far to explain why I don't play those types of games anymore
3/15/2009 9:34:22 PM
lol i used to love rpgs too mani look back and am amazed at how much time i spent playin those damn games in HSnowadays i cant seem to play a video game longer than an hour before losin focus[Edited on March 15, 2009 at 9:38 PM. Reason : h]

Team Fortress 2. I've been on hiatus for almost a year now but there has been so much crap that's changed about it that I know it will be a pain to get back into.
3/16/2009 12:07:37 AM
I'm not sure I've ever gotten more than halfway through most serious RPGs before getting bored and stoppingaside from Zelda games and pokemon lol (you know you did too in middle school)Oh I did beat Kingdom of Paradise on the PSP too, but that was back in freshman year when college was easy and I had free time

tenchu is just hard to get back into because the controls are just fuckin insanei guess same with metal gear/splinter cellits so eas to lose the controls and the enemy patterns and what u can and cant get away with
3/16/2009 12:39:10 AM
Mirrors edge controls are pretty complicated so someone would do me a favor listing them for when I start it back up.

An rpg/adventure game will definitely be the hardest to get back into. i bought FFXII when it came out in fall 06. i played it for two months and put it down. 2 years later, in december 08, i tried picking up where i left off... definitely had no clue where the fuck i was and what i was supposed to be doing.
3/16/2009 1:39:39 AM
Mirror's Edge has about three buttons to push, you can get back into it really fast.
3/16/2009 2:14:52 AM
I remember punching and kicking were combinations of controls and running up a wall, turning around and jumping had a few controls associated with ti.
3/16/2009 3:15:30 AM
With any game I take a break from, the hardest part for me is getting used to the controls again...Used not to be a problem in the NES, SNES, N64 days....but now the controls have so many functions and button combinations it gets ridiculous...at least with the PS3...the wii is a little easier to get back into the groove with

definitely rpgs. at least some games, like the Tales series have journal entries that you can read to refresh yourself on what has happened in the game.

Shit, I'll say Ninja Gaiden Black and II are the hardest to get back into, especially if you play on the higher difficulties.Although remembering the optimum combat sequences and specific abilities for RPGs (like Skies of Arcadia, FF and all) has a pretty big curve as well[Edited on March 16, 2009 at 12:20 PM. its amazing how much your skills diminish when you stop playing that Ninja GaidenI stopped playing FFXII for a while. I wanted to do all the hunts before I beat the game but decided the hunts were ridiculous and tried to beat it. I had no idea what I was doing. The only reason I won was because my party was so overpowered.I need to beat Fallout 3 but Call of Duty is just so much more accessible. I don't think I can play RPGs anymore

I remember playing the hell out of Lunar 2 in high school for a week or two, which back then was a LOT of hours, and then trying to pick it back up about a month or two later. That rpg was amazing, until you forget what exact town and person you have to talk to next, because if you don't know, no guide will be able to put you back on track.
3/16/2009 12:54:31 PM
Metroid Prime 1 and 2. Hard to get back into only because I normally stop at some random save point. Then I have no clue what to do next when I start playing again.
3/16/2009 1:36:30 PM
Dead Rising. I forgot everything and just said fuck it.

MMOs are probably the hardest if you take a year+ long break. You could always just restart an RPG (or Metroid Prime). Chances are you'll remember most of what to do and it won't take that long.
3/16/2009 2:24:56 PM
resident evil 2
3/17/2009 12:40:48 PM
see i didnt have as much of a prob with Ninja Gaiden though I was playing it on normal. I had a hard time with that first boss too, but when i played it a couple of years later i trounced through it no problem (same with Alma). guess i shoulda played on hard, though it was still fun.
3/17/2009 12:49:40 PM
I second metroid primes and ff12, ill prob just end up starting prime 2 again but god damn I don't have the effort to start back at level 1 on final fantasy 12! plus I quit twilight princess halfway through the last level, prob about 15 minutes away from the last boss and I don't even remember why
3/17/2009 2:33:14 PM
I see a lot of people failed to finish FFXIIthat's a testament to how crappy that game was - the other FF games I didn't put down until every sidequest was complete and the game was done
3/17/2009 2:57:19 PM
MMORPGS suck for the fact that in a sense you are competing against other players, who continued to play 8 hours every day while you took a year break away from the game. PWNED
3/17/2009 4:07:45 PM
if they arent the kind that rapidly shittify items then it isnt as big of a deal. you could still have decent equipment. most need to make better and better items through expansions though to keep people playing 8hrs a day (though not always eh).
3/17/2009 4:14:38 PM
I tend to play RPGs over an extended period. I'll play through some of the game, stop playing for a couple weeks or months, and then pick up where I left off.
3/17/2009 4:15:11 PM
^to the guy who just said to restart an rpg...Sure, if I remember everything to do, then it'll take me less time to get to the point I was at before. At the same time, do I really want to put in 35 hours to get to the place I was at at the 40 hour mark before?
3/17/2009 6:38:11 PM
Deus ExFF7
3/17/2009 8:16:20 PM
rpgs are so fucking boring at first, just hit the attack option over and over again vs shitty enemies until you reach a decent level
