http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/news?slug=ys-agents031109Cliff Notes... Kevin Love played AAU ball since he was 10 for the same coach. After a UCLA game last year, the coach comes up and asks him to go to dinner with him. Love goes to the dinner and Jay Williams from some private school in the middle of a predominantly black neighborhood riddled with crime is there. Turns out that the coach's AAU team has been gifted $250,000 by William's "agency" if the coach can get Love to sign with Williams.

i'll bite....what do you want to get out of this thread? are you looking to get debate out of people trying to defend your boy, Love? or are you trying to get people to defend Williams?
3/11/2009 11:43:30 PM
What is there to defend? Love didn't do anything wrong to have to defend. And it's really sad that Jay Williams is all but a used car salesman at this point...

Williams still goes down as one of the top-3 best PGs in ACC historyHERE comes the debate [Edited on March 11, 2009 at 11:52 PM. Reason : 3]

All pro athletes need to have clauses in their contracts about motorcycles.

miracle minute ftwhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9_pPqWfI84

^ that will forever be talked aboutespecially when any game is within 10 with a minute to play

growing up I was a terps fan. The miracle minute is still the reason I hate Duke more than UNC today. Bobby Hurley and Chris Paul are the only PG's from the ACC I could think of that I would put ahead of Williams. Dude was amazing. Honorable mention to Corchiani.

no monte towe love?
3/12/2009 9:08:29 AM
none of us ever saw him play....and i'm a stickler that you really can't form an opinion on how good somebody was unless you actually saw them playotherwise you're forming your opinion based on the opinions of others
3/12/2009 9:47:54 AM
i dont think jay williams is a used car salesmen because i saw him last night on ESPN as a commentator sitting next to Hubert Davis, and he actually sounded pretty knowledgeable.

Williams was the best college player I've ever seen. Only knock on his game was his free throw shooting his junior year (albeit at like 75%), which may have cost them another national championship. Of course, if it weren't for his ridiculous shot that put him on the line with a chance to tie, he wouldn't have even had the opportunity to blow it. I haven't seen that clip in a while. whats funny is that Williams scored 8 points in like 15 seconds. The one where he ripped the ball out of the guys hands and went up for 3 is burned in my memory. crazy.

phil ford ftw
3/12/2009 10:20:50 AM
the miracle minute is the only reason i dont automatically turn the channel from a game with a minute left and a 10-pt defecit for either team anymore
3/12/2009 10:23:09 AM
I still stake the claim that McGrady's 13 in 33 was more impressive
3/12/2009 10:31:58 AM
Ford played in the 70's. You have never seen him play other than highlights.
3/12/2009 11:05:52 AM
Fuck that fat faggot kevin love. Jay williams ftwthanks for the memories
3/12/2009 11:30:15 AM
as far as pure point guard goes, you have to mention ed cota.
3/12/2009 11:30:36 AM
id rather talk about Chad Cota and his interception against the steelers
3/12/2009 11:36:44 AM
I'd rather talk about North Dakota and there improbable run in the tourney this year.
3/12/2009 11:39:39 AM
lolN-D-STATE...ND STATE
3/12/2009 11:44:59 AM
Chris Paul is a better PG now than he was in college. I wouldn't consider him one of the greatest in the ACC.I loved Jason Williams. I was a Duke fan before coming to State and actually didn't start hating Duke until Jason was gone.
3/12/2009 11:45:22 AM
3/12/2009 12:11:58 PM
^^ True. Chris Paul would have gone down as one of the top 3 PG's in ACC history if he had stuck around for 4 years. As it was, he left after 2 and only realized his full potential in the pros. Corchiani was a better college PG than Paul.

I'd put Jay Williams #1 in my lifetime easily. I don't see how you could even remotely consider anyone above him. There was no one who dominated offensively as thoroughly as he did.I'd be willing to argue he's the best ACC player in my lifetime... Others receiving votes : Christian Laettner, Danny Ferry, Midgen Bakali, Bryant Feggins, Iker Iturbe, Malcolm Mackey, Terrell McIntyre, Johnny Rhodes, Sarunas Jaskevicious, Erik Meeks, John Crotty, James Forrest, Ricky Peral, Scooter Banks, Curtis Staples, and Pete Chilcutt
