So, I'm totally going on talking points here, I'll admit it.But, didn't Obama promise a tax-cut for all households making less than 250k? And didn't he say the porkulous-bill was the tax-cut? I thought that capped it at 75k?Oh, and what about his carbon-tax. And his per-mile tax? Isn't that, you know, a tax increase? Time for America to wake-the-fuck-up. Obama lied about his "tax cuts"
2/28/2009 2:27:31 PM
Well, duh. Candidates are supposed to lie during elections.Next you're going to be upset that car salesmen aren't honest.
2/28/2009 2:34:54 PM
I thought it was common fact that all candidates make promises during their campaigns to which they do not keep or break.I do not feel like digging for it but i remember watching a whole 10 min segment where bush made comments on the campaign trail than did the opposite in office.
2/28/2009 2:53:20 PM
it's pretty well known that when politicians from all parties talk about "tax cuts", the one they are talking about and the one people understand they're talking about is the income tax that comes out of your paycheck every week.
2/28/2009 3:05:44 PM
2/28/2009 4:50:59 PM
sorry, meant to say individuals capped at 75,000. Doesn't change the fact that he LIED. Even at 190k, it's a lie. Care to defend the messiah now?
2/28/2009 9:43:24 PM
I think we should have two tax brackets. One for people who work and one for people who don't.Splitting us all up into these separate brackets just keeps us all fighting with one another. When we need to all get together and get to robbing those figuratively fat fuckers who sit on they asses all day, collecting on investments and shit.I don't care where your money comes from--welfare or your great, great bootlegging granddaddy. If you ain't got a job, it's the same shit. Holding charity balls or selling drugs doesn't count as a job.Shit, I'm bout to graduate. I don't wanna be working no job if other fuckers aren't gonna do their part to earn their own.
2/28/2009 9:52:45 PM
I'm a 100% ok with that. But only if you include welfare recipients into that same class of "people who don't work". Ok, I'm not ok with that, because what you call "not working" is completely subjective

AHAHAI was being silly. But, for real, I'm basically just trotting out my same tax plan that nobody takes seriously.0% income tax.100% estate tax.
2/28/2009 10:37:08 PM
2/28/2009 10:40:12 PM
I'm familiar with the capital gains tax.The people who work should pay a much lower capital gains tax than the people who don't.

^ bullshit. He said if you made less than 250k, u'd see a tax cut. It's amazing how selective your memory is.^^^^It's a pretty damned big when one of the major arguments for him was his alleged "tax-cuts" for the middle class. it's ok, though. You don't need to stop your worshipping, boonetard
3/1/2009 12:28:24 PM
the cut off for tax cuts was $227,000 according to the comparison that was going around during the election.
3/1/2009 12:34:35 PM
Who cares about tax cuts when you just got laid off because of 8 years of Government-sanctioned corporate irresponsibility?I sure don't.
3/1/2009 12:50:42 PM
I don't understand why the lowest income group gets Obama's biggest tax break when these people do not pay hardly any taxes to begin with.
3/1/2009 1:19:29 PM
^It makes the chart look better.
3/1/2009 1:20:51 PM
^^ because the relative size of that tax break will help those people the most
3/1/2009 1:22:35 PM
because everyone knows those people are the most deserving. I mean, clearly they are the winners in life
3/1/2009 1:24:22 PM
you're right. the only measure of how successful "at life" you are is what tax bracket you're in
3/1/2009 1:27:42 PM
^^ not eveyone can be a doctor, engineer, etc and make middle to high wages. our society relies on people working on all levels including custodians, bus drivers, and other low-pay service jobs. a $500-1000 tax cut is going to go much further for these people than it would for someone that makes more than that off of interest from their savings account.[Edited on March 1, 2009 at 2:06 PM. to burro: obama said just that he wouldn't raise taxes for people who make under $250K. and he said this over and over again. i can't believe you still don't remember that.

I'm sure Obama could've edited things. It's seems more likely that you just don't know what you're talking about.Would you care to cite anything to counter the fact that you've just been caught red-handed being a jackass?
3/1/2009 8:14:29 PM
would you care to cite anything from the news to counter my claim?the fucking graphic posted on this page supports me, for crying out loud.]

apparently, the graph above doesn't mean a damn thing to you, does it? you know, since it was gleaned from his tax plan. Obama changed his story on fucking EVERYTHING. That's the whole point. Congratulations, though, on cherry-picking one sentence and not including the rest of his speeches where he claimed 250k and below would get a cut.but, tell me. Do you not call a carbon tax a "tax increase?" Do you not call the tax-per-mile a tax increase? Is 13 dollars a fucking month really a tax cut? no. it's not. He LIED. but it;'s ok. You'll forgive him, just like the idiots in N. Korea and China forgive their dear leaders. In fact, I'm finding a TON of links about how he CHANGED his tax plan in around October. Kind of convenient, wouldn't you agree?[Edited on March 1, 2009 at 8:31 PM. Reason : ]

That graph doesn't really directly address the $250,000 cut-off, but it appears that Obama was LIEing about his promised $12 tax cut to that bracket? You've yet to provide a quote of his promised $250k tax cut. I searched all three debate transcripts, and this is the only time he made a promise to $250k-ersAnd ignoring all that, it's hilarious how nitpicky ya'll are having to be to pin anything on him. A slight change in the tax policy is now a LIE
3/1/2009 8:33:08 PM
http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Obama_s_tax_cut_threshold_shrinkingproof that his threshold shrunk. ergo, it was, at one point, 250k. convenient lying. interesting, though, is the Biden blunder of 150k. Which is exactly what the threshold ended up really being, for a single person, at 75k.a SLIGHT change? From 200k SINGLE person down to 75k? give me a fucking break.[Edited on March 1, 2009 at 8:33 PM. Reason : ]

I'm sorry that you have your head in the sand.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGi30GErEKIBAM! 18:50. He says he will CUT YOUR TAXES. Yes, he started out with "your taxes won't increase." 3/1/2009 9:24:52 PM
So now "generalizations during a campaign speech" = LIEing!I mean, really. This is a mountain out of a molehill. If this is the best reason you can find to hate him so far, he's doing pretty stellar.
