^^Basically hit a ditch head on and got stuck on the other side of it.

^That is the sucky part... the airbags were really unnecessary and left me with a bloody lip. I can get the windshield replaced for free and I patched up the front end (it was basically a light socket that got messed up - looks okay now), but the airbags are another issue. Definitely not paying to replace them, I already cut them out and just need to secure the areas they came out of. I read that NC inspections do not check whether or not the airbag light is on...

But still, now I kind of have a reason for a new car.

The piece hanging by a bungie cord that is all mangled is just a piece of plastic that I ended up ripping off. The alignment seems ok, it drives fine.

Gonna have a bit of an issue selling your car to get a new one if the airbags don't exist/work.

I am probably gonna keep it and just drive the hell out of it until it dies. Assuming that it can pass inspection without airbags. It is already paid off and everything. If it ends up giving me probs I may just keep it as an extra "work" car to haul stuff short distances and get a new/used sporty car for regular driving.

I would say it is due to the airbags deploying... the frame may have condensed slightly to cause it.. I dunno. It is free to replace though thanks to my insurance policy.

when i've seen an airbag deploy, the bag runs along the windshield while it's inflating with nitrogen gas. the force of deployment cracks the glass.

i've seen deployments where the glass was fine, but i've seen them break too. depends on the car and the circumstances i suppose.

if the car goes over a big pothole, the airbags will deploy. there have been lots of instances of that happening. try a new york pothole, will do the same thing.
