I have a 2001 Z28 Camaro with 49,690. I am thinking of selling this car for around $10,500. The reason I want to sell this car is the small space it has and the low mpg (19 city, 24 hwy) it's not too low but could get something higher.



I would like to get a 4 door car or light suv.

-no more than 15,000 miles/year

I know asking $10,500 for my car is a bit steep but keep in mind that I'm not only going to target cheap college kids. What type of car do you guys think is the most durable and what's my best option? The car I plan on buying, I plan on driving until it dies. Do you think I'm better off keeping my car? I'm kinda leaning towards a Jetta or an A4. Which cars have a lower cost to repair?






This summer I'm planning on driving across country and to Mexico. I want to buy a large SUV or 4-door truck for cheap.

If reliability is a concern then stay away from audi/vw (bad personal experiences as well as stereotypes). The BMWs should be better but are still expensive to fix. Maybe look at (1) acura integra - there were 4dr models, (2) VW golf 1.8 - very few around, (3) the obvious civic/accord/corolla/camry, (4) mazda 3/protoge, (5) impreza 2.5

Not much help but maybe some ideas?

first one looks ok.. i would have to see it closer. it is good that the timing belt is done.

second one.. i wouldnt get a 2.8... just a preference but its not really worth it.

third.. NO! NO! NO! first off, it is fwd (dont buy a non-quattro).. second off, there is a lot of half-assed shit on that car.. i've personally worked on it a couple times. there was a hole in one of the intercooler pipes (must have had a port there for something at one point) and it was plugged by welding a nickle over it. that was taken care of (it was leaking boost through the weld) but i'm sure you will be chasing down plenty of other little things like that.

The Land Rovers are nice but I feel like they are high maintenance.

Cobalts do seem poorly built or just cheap to me especially the basic models

toyotafj40s i'm thinking of taking your advice and just keeping the camaro. I don't want to go from something with no problems to a car with oil leaks and what not. I'm just not gonna grow out the mullet lol

the audi a4 is one of my favorites, good to know about the 3rd car, definitely wouldn't get that now, small world
