fuck, a friend of mine was going to go to the flying saucer tomorrow to (hopefully) get our tickets[Edited on March 24, 2009 at 10:27 PM. Reason : fuck]
3/24/2009 10:25:54 PM
it seemed like a better deal when it used to be $25. I've gotten comp tickets the last 5 years and was kind of oblivious to the cost of the tickets. $40 seems kind of steep, but I guess that's about what a heavy bar tab would be for me.I think I'm going to hold out for the one in Durham in the fall.
3/24/2009 10:32:19 PM
The Durham Ale House is sold out. I am not sure why it isn't updated.[Edited on March 24, 2009 at 10:37 PM. Reason : And I think also the Lonerider Brewing Co. ]
3/24/2009 10:36:24 PM
ale houses only let each customer get 6 tickets. luckily, i made two freinds in the bar and had 2 extra credit cards, so i left with 18 night session tix
3/25/2009 10:34:47 AM
I'm looking forward to going this year as I have never been. Good times!
3/25/2009 11:24:58 AM
anyone know of a place that still has some?
3/25/2009 12:21:31 PM
i got 7 tickets... 5 at first, and then my friend's wife called and said the ale house she was at ran out right before she got to the front, so they let me get 2 more. (the line had cleared out.)
3/25/2009 12:29:24 PM
Don't get VIP, not worth it
3/25/2009 3:05:46 PM
I got my ticket online!
3/25/2009 5:44:32 PM
one of my friends got a ticket for the evening session instead of the afternoon session... would anybody be up for a trade?
3/25/2009 8:02:13 PM
is volunteering worth it? what is the volunteer after party like and is there a lot of beer? Any other usefull information for making this decision would be appreciated
3/26/2009 7:07:43 PM
my friend volunteered and had a good time. he took me with him to the after party, and yes, there was a lot of beer.
3/26/2009 7:44:05 PM
^do you think it would be worth it to volunteer instead of attending the actual vestival? There a varity of beers and what not there? My goal is to drink mostly beers I have not had before
3/27/2009 5:10:28 PM
what is the password?
3/27/2009 5:23:53 PM
I'm attending the festival. I could have volunteered. You do get a good amount of beer volunteering too... i'd just rather attend.
3/27/2009 6:15:48 PM
does anyone have the password? thanks.
3/28/2009 12:34:41 AM
password? what password? and can i have it? please?[Edited on March 28, 2009 at 7:58 PM. Reason : j]
3/28/2009 7:56:29 PM
just got 2 tickets to the evening session i am SHOCKED at how easy/fast that was compared to last year
3/30/2009 8:04:44 AM
6 tickets, evening session.. and yes, etix was a lot easier this time around
3/30/2009 8:10:46 AM
bump for saturday
4/26/2009 6:40:53 PM
w00t i'll be working there from 12-8....as soon as i find out what brewery i'll bump
4/27/2009 9:24:37 PM
awesome. I'm excited.
4/27/2009 11:08:50 PM
looks like it'll be in the low to mid 80's with a chance of raini could go for cooler temps, but after about 5 minutes of being in there i'm sure i won't complain
4/28/2009 2:26:17 AM
maybe i'll wear a wifebeater.
4/28/2009 9:45:43 AM
Hoping it doesn't rain. The website put out the program that lists what booth each brewery is located as well as what beers they are bringing. Get your lists and pretzel necklaces ready.
4/29/2009 3:15:41 PM
Yay! Can't wait!
4/29/2009 8:25:17 PM
I've got afternoon tickets, from 1-4. What happens at 4? How to they make you leave at four?
4/30/2009 2:53:05 PM
^they do...don't you worry about that.
4/30/2009 3:49:38 PM
in for the afternoon session
4/30/2009 4:38:34 PM
maybe I'll have a bobbyspotting.
4/30/2009 4:49:24 PM
i had a booby spotting on the way home... some chick in an suv decided to flash me while i was in the back of the pickup truck on the way home.pissed me off that they cut off pouring beer at 3:50. I payed to drink beer the entire 4 hours.
5/2/2009 6:50:10 PM
^ they have always stopped pouring 10 min before the end of the session (for crowd control purposes)
5/4/2009 9:15:20 AM
^The whole point is that since they say it ends at 4, they could and should keep pouring until 4 and actually end it at 4:10...[/truth in advertising]
5/4/2009 9:30:40 AM
yeah, it's crap.they have TWO HOURS between the sessions to get everyone out.
5/4/2009 9:30:58 AM
some booths were pouring after 10
5/4/2009 12:18:42 PM
a good time was had by allthough i don't quite remember how i got from moore square to saucer where our ride picked us upthat banana bread beer tasted like banana runts, and i had a belgian white that tasted like baked beans...'twas strange
5/4/2009 2:11:27 PM
That was the best thing ever! This was my first year, I'll not miss another one. I did learn a lot though, foolishly I thought we could get there at 11:50 and be in at 12...Also, pretzel necklaces FTWI'll also bring in some grocery bags or something in my pocket, I'm convinced the lack of free bags was a ploy to sell more stuff, the only way you can get a bag is to buy something. Carolina ale house $10 off cards FTW as well
5/4/2009 4:41:04 PM
They have more to do than just get people out between sessions...A few examples:Distribute beer for 2nd session, distribute a new rounds of ice,Switch out most of the volunteers(Even if they're doing both sessions they still have to check out).Reality is that volunteers are supposed to pull the beer off the tables 10 min prior & pouring actually ceases @ 10. I didnt volunteer for this one, so I don't know if they changed it. Drunk looters do attempt to take the beer on the tables with them as they leave, and if it were allowed to happen then the city would shut down the whole festival.
5/4/2009 5:06:03 PM
^^why do you want a bag?
5/5/2009 7:44:30 AM
Had a great time. I was pretty dilligent about going around and sampling all the different kinds of beer until I hit the Highland tent. After that, I just dropped anchor and got retarded. I love that beer.I somehow managed to lose my wallet and one flipflop during the festival. The wallet magically reappeared at Raleigh Times, though I'm sure I never went in there. The flipflop remains at large.
5/5/2009 10:04:20 AM
hahahawe went to raleigh times tooi ordered a pbr and thought i gave the bartender a $5, but i drunkenly gave him a $20.i was amazed at all the change i got back[Edited on May 5, 2009 at 10:21 AM. Reason : and that was before we went to jackpot....]
