Anyone finished with the first paper yet? So far I have 500 words of mostly rambling.I'm having a lot of trouble explaining and supporting either point very well. I personally don't see how the conclusion is made that people are "things"...insignificant, at times sub-human, but I don't think I can really find any concrete examples of what he's trying to get at here. I'm not a reader either so I have a terrible time finding any subliminal messages or themes. For anyone else that's not up to speed, we have to show how Homer's Iliad either does or does not dehumanize its characters by portraying them as things. We have to provide two supporting examples of whatever position we take, a rebuttal point, and an example to refute that.

Seems like a weird take on the Iliad.

Back up - anyone know what the essay topic is and care to share?

i would suggest writing everything you know, then adding things in you don't know but found on sparknotes, rephasing your words into other peoples words and other peoples words into your words, then balling it up and trying again.

i devised a very successful formula for writing papers in my day, it went a bit like this...basically, pick a topic, then narrow it down somehow
