Won't be doing it for some time, but went to NCSU for 4 years, switched majors once, decided I was tired of school, dropped out and enlisted, how hard/easy will it be for me to come back when I want to? Also, would I get to opportunity to begin a new transcript, not that my grades were bad, but some stuff I'd like to retake for a grade since a lot of the information I have no doubt forgotten about.

you haven't been gone long enough to start a new transcriptit is pretty easy, you can apply for readmission online and assuming you were not on academic probation or anything you pretty much just have to pay $50 and are good to go

Would there be anyway I could retake certain classes for grades? Even if the grades are just averaged with the previous attempt?

neg, you could get the counseling office to support a withdraw for a particular semester, but they won't let you pick and choose which classes to retake[Edited on February 2, 2009 at 12:24 PM. Reason : or you could just retake it and have both grades show up]

My main concern is being able to retake those classes for grades, GI Bill wouldn't cover auditing. So having both grades show up is fine. Is readmission highly selective or is pretty much apply and get in?

you can always take a class again, its just not going to overwrite your grade

as i understand it, readmission into your former major is automatic unless you were suspended

they let me back in, so i doubt they'll say no to you

i came back to get a second degreeall i had to do was get a couple of signatures and pay them some $$$, and I was inI have the same transcript (even though I graduated once already, the same courses show up...)

I didn't have any trouble getting back in after taking about a year off. Simply a matter of filling out a form and paying a small amount of $$.

It's not hard at all to get back in, basically as long as you didn't get suspended, they should let you back in.
