Anyone know where I can get my door welded back on? I drive an older jeep cherokee, and the drivers side door top hinge decided to just up and come off today. It looks like the previous owner had tried to fix it with a really bad weld job, and now its finally gave way. Its a secondary vehicle, but i want it fixed right.

Any ideas? I was told to check out some muffler shops since they do welding all day. What price range should I look to spend?

There are folks here on Tdub that weld all day long too. PM Jeepman. He can hook you up.

Jeepman

your problem is not unique, took chrysler about 7 years to realize that spot welding hinges to sheetmetal with no backer was not a good idea, a stiff breeze will fold a caravan front door flt against the fender

no kidding. PM sent to Jeepman.

Heard good things about Bob's Muffler shop in Garner, but I'd want it done right. Probably need some work done to the frame to get the backing on, and not just spot welded again...

took it to bobs muffler in garner and they called today to say its done. $30 for all...

granted i havent seen it, i've never been disappointed with their work before, but all in all, it seems pretty reasonable.
