Well, VW finally confirmed it was bringing the Polo to us (although no specific date). Personally i would consider buying one if there is a diesel option (BlueMotion) which would get 60-70mpg.Rumors say that it may be built in Mexico, but i can definitely see it being built in VWs new production plant (currently being built) in Chattanooga, TN.[Edited on January 27, 2009 at 2:48 PM. I highly doubt it'd be a 2010 launch if it even did come to the TN plant

sorry, tn plant isnt slated to open until 2011.. but i think it is a definite possibility that they will be produced there eventually.but i do see this happening in 2010 or 2011 (some articles i saw were speculating middle of '10 model year). we will probably get a small gas engine (1.4?) first with a diesel to follow later[Edited on January 27, 2009 at 3:07 PM. Reason : they say 2-door and 4-door.. but yeah..]

The damn rabbit was *supposed* to be back in the US for 08/09. I don't know what happened there, but the Mexico production rumor has been around for years on the Rabbit, but apparently never materialized

^^ But it's a bit smaller. Probably cheaper too.I can't say I find the smaller part appealing though. I bang into my doors with my elbows enough as is. Economy is great, but I'll spend a lot more on gas to get a car I can fit in without feeling like I need a shoehorn to dig my ass out of there.

^ Are you 6'3" + or overweight?I think the car looks good! I love wagons and hatchbacks though.
