IntroductionThe Cognitive Ergonomics Lab in the Dept. of Industrial & Systems Engineering at NC State University is conducting a research experiment to study situation awareness and memory in a simulated detective task. Participants will watch videos of detective stories on a large projection screen and play a Flash-based first person shooter game during the period of the story. Participants will also be asked questions about the story at random times during the video and they will need to provide verbal responses to the questions in a timely manner. Requirements1. You are expected to provide 2.5 hours of time and will receive an honorarium of $20. 2. As the experiment materials involve the use of detective stories from TV dramas, you should not have any experience in watching detective shows (e.g., CSI, Sherlock Holmes, Detective Conan, or Inspector Lynley Mysteries). 3. You must be a native English speaker. 4. You should have good vision and hearing ability. ContactPlease contact Tao Zhang at 919-448-5042, tzhang@ncsu.edu or visit Room 458, Daniels Hall on the NC State main campus to fill out a simple subject screening form and schedule your experiment time thereafter.

haha this is perfect for my best friend...he plays video games better when he's talking on the phone or listening to something than when he is just playing with no distractions.
