I read from some online college football recruitment magazine that two of our non-conference footballopponents for the 09 football season will be 1) Pittsburgh, and 2) South Carolina??? Has anyone else heard or read the same thing?? Im def. psyched if that's the case, b/c TOB is upgrading our non-conference schedule....I just wanted to find out if there were any truth to this online report I came across? Thanks for any credible info.

Is there an accurate site that lists our confirmed opponents for future seasons?
1/23/2009 11:07:57 AM
there are sites that keep track of that sort of thing. But usually we have teams like Notre Dame and Tennessee on there but it doesn't matter since they buy us out.
1/23/2009 11:10:45 AM
^ Yeah I've seen one of those before but it didn't look too accurate.

yeah, and those fucking pussies from ECU who petitioned to get us to play them backed out of their 09 game so we get to have 2 home games against 1-AA teams too. fucking fags. I guess thats what happens when you get your shit stomped 2 years in a row by a shitty team.

damn that cfbpalace site is awesome. It shows the all-time head-to-head scores with any team.

are we really 0-2 against Wyoming? That's pretty pathetic.
1/23/2009 3:41:58 PM
we should play centrali want to see us beat someone 50-0 just once

Supposedly the 4th OOC opponent is Murray State, but I havent heard that officially anywhere. If so, lame...means we HAVE to go 7-5 to get a bowl game. I am certain this is all Lee Fowlers doing, I think TOB realizes the benefits of making the fourth game count, even if its not at home.

looks like a pretty tough schedule for next year, maybe 4 or 5 conf W's (UNC, Duke, @BC, MD?, @WF?) and I guess the 2 1-AA W's, and I don't really know anything about Pitt except that they were ranked for a little while this year... at home I guess I'd call it a W, so I'm thinkin 8-4ish?

well its pretty close, were you keeping tabs to know that, or do you just research this stuff on a regular basis?
1/23/2009 8:41:15 PM
^I haven't researched it and I know that Duke was pretty good up through the 50's or so.

I really hope we can swap out Murray State with someone worthwhile. Makes us look like crap.
2/1/2009 10:51:20 AM
Yeah I would of much rather have us play NCCU in football then Gardner Web...or we could of gone and had Elon or Campbell come to Carter Finley if we were looking for pansy 1-AA teams to play (no offense NCCU), but seriously...local teams would of brought more interest from local fans! But Pitt and SC are on our home schedule so that's def. a big plus! GO PACK!

I'm jacked about this schedule...might only have to watch one game on TV and go to the rest. Gotta decide whether or not to actually roll all the way up to MA to see the BC game.
2/12/2009 1:31:55 AM
Yeah next year-I see us being in Tampa for the first time in a long fucking time. We wont do this backing into the ACC Championship game...we are going to get there by bull-dozing thru each ACC conference opponent on our schedule! GO PACK!
2/12/2009 1:34:18 AM
Kinda sad to see out of all our acc opponents, we only have an all-time winning record against Virginia and Wake.
2/12/2009 1:34:32 AM
There isn't a game on our schedule that we can't win if RW stays healthy all season.FSU, VT, Pitt, and Clemson will be the challenges. Let's just assume we win all of those, and the ACC championship game. Will the 2 I-AA teams keep us from playing for the national championship?I'm not delusional. 8-9 wins will be a great season, but it is something to think about. If we don't get a BCS bowl, I hope we go to Orlando. Much more to do there than Birmingham.[Edited on February 12, 2009 at 1:45 AM. Reason : .]

^ i like your attitude my friend
2/12/2009 1:50:00 AM
^^ But I thought RW was quitting football to take time to focus on his baseball career
2/12/2009 9:48:18 AM
^^^ Provided two other BCS schools don't go undefeated I would think we would HAVE to be in the talks for it. But while the potential is there for us to go undefeated, its also there for us to go 6-6. Lets take it one step at a time
