I need a thick round top for a coffee table. I think 30" across would be about the right size.

hm, I might have what youre looking for, im not sure of the dimensions, ill measure it monday when im back in town. of course you could always take the metal base and top together, 10 bucks.

Sounds good...Just let me know what it measures. I don't want the base, but I'll drop it off at the thrift store if I can't find a use for it or you don't want to keep it. Snap a picture if it's not too much trouble.

I had to replace a glass top to an end table once. I ended up replacing it with plexiglass that I bought from Lowes and had them cut it to the size i needed. Couldn't tell the difference. Might not work for a coffee table though since you will be using it more often, and plexiglass scratches pretty easily

^ Was the top that you replaced sitting on a solid piece or was it "floating?" The coffee table I'm talking about would only contact the glass in three spots. It's basically a wooden tripod made of teak and oak that you'll be able to see through the glass, so I'd think anything other than a thick piece of glass would sag with any weight on it. Plus I'm hoping to find something with beveled edges.
