Didnt see a topic on it. Movie based on a true story of Jewish resistance fighters in eastern Poland during WWII. Daniel Craig is in it. Its gotten mixed reviews, but honestly, i thought it was pretty damn good.

The director was on Bob Edwards Weekend (a show on NPR) today. He also directed Glory. After hearing the interview I am pretty keen on seeing this.

Good movie. Thought Valkyrie was better...but this definitely had a lot more action/fighting in it...thus came off more entertaining.

bttt...i have a question about this film if anyone who has seen it can help me.I tried watching a torrent version not too long ago and the first 15-20 minutes of the film was all spoken in German and Hebrew. My copy did not have subtitles so I turned it off because I didn't want to miss important opening plot points without translation. Were there subtitles in the original film? Or was it non-subtitled on purpose for the opening sequences before transitioning into English?

I haven't seen it in quite some time, but I don't recall that being the case. I don't mind a few lines in a foreign language here and there without subtitles (especially when you can get the idea of what's going on through tone and body language), but I wouldn't have continued to watch if 15-20 minutes had gone buy without subtitles. So using that line of thinking, i think you may have a bum copy.do the comments where you got it say anything about the subtitles?[Edited on April 10, 2012 at 2:29 PM. Reason : .]

It's been a long time since I got this copy, so i can't remember the source. But i'm looking at a couple popular torrents and they have notes regarding hardcoded subtitles for non-english parts. So I must have a bum/stripped copy. Which is odd because subtitles like that are, as i said, hardcoded which means they are usually on the film itself, not an added sub file like other languages.
