http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=3837838He discusses traveling. Guess who is the player he brings up?

Good clip...Knight is honest and tells it how it is. Hahah look at 50 here.Gavin Grant used to go from the 3 line all the way for a dunk and get away with it.

HAHA amazingWonder if IC has seen it yet?

atta boy Bobby Knight!

Just about every game I watch I see multiple walking violations that are never called and wonder the same thing myself. I was always taught growing up you get 2 steps and once you stop moving you have to keep your pivot foot the same. The one violation I see all the time which wasn't talked about by Knight, is the pivot on one foot and then the pivot to the other direction on the other foot.

officials are too busy worrying about the "and 1" these days. Their eyes are on the arm play, not the feet.

Can't wait to show this to my brother who claims hansborough never walks
1/16/2009 2:24:46 PM
Crab Dribble FTW
1/16/2009 2:36:28 PM
amazingi like how he doesnt call out the player by name but just uses him as an example
1/16/2009 2:53:48 PM
yeah unless you're really watching the feet you can easily miss some of those.as a sidenote, when did knight become a raging alcoholic? He looks like he's wearing a clown nose.

I think the Hansbrough walk that pisses me off the most is the one where he went by Kenny George and dunked. Everyone was like "oh what athelticism" and I was like "the dude took 5 steps, athleticism my ass. you can move a lot faster when you don't have to worry about dribbling the ball."
1/16/2009 3:13:28 PM
i admit hansbrough walks occasionally, but i'm pretty sure its called a PIVOT foot for a reason. it looked like BK counted steps that the free foot was making while the other was planted
1/16/2009 3:36:49 PM
^no, his pivot foot definitely moved and he counted those steps. Tyler tried to change his pivot foot as well, which is also a walking violation.[Edited on January 16, 2009 at 4:05 PM. Reason : .]

oh i know, but i think he overcounts by at least 1 when the pivot was stationary. doesn't really matter though in that particular clipi do think that since he's so herky jerky with his limbs it always looks worse than it really is. does he travel and get away with it? sure, but not nearly as much as people make it out
1/16/2009 4:07:18 PM
you fucking unc homerhe walks all the god damn time
1/17/2009 10:58:03 AM
I dont see how anyone can see that clip of hansbro and NOT think he didn't travel.
1/17/2009 11:32:17 AM
the main thing he does all the god damn time is shuffle/switch pivot foots after he has picked up the dribble. It gets on my god damn nerves so bad. If he is such a great player, he shouldnt need to get away with the amount of shit he does
1/17/2009 11:34:01 AM
yeah cause i'm sure you being a state homer doesn't influence your opinion at all i don't spout uncism very often, but in this case i think its kinda justified
1/17/2009 11:35:41 AM
they need to change the rules if they are going to allow itand let everyone know, because then other people that abide by the rules can take advantage of the non-calling as well
1/17/2009 11:38:18 AM
watch the game tonightcount how many times he travelsi guarantee that it will be at least 50% of the times that he has the ball
1/17/2009 11:38:25 AM
i get tired of people saying its because of a personal bias.I enjoy watching the stupid fuck play. He brings it every night. He also just happens to walk at least 5-6 times a god damn game.Liking state has nothing to do with the fact that a guy from carolina walks more than a fucking relay for life participant every game[Edited on January 17, 2009 at 11:42 AM. in the world of tyler hansbra, there is no pivot... there is only will
