Not exactly the off season yet, but its coming, and many teams that are out of the remaining 4 are actively looking to better themselves.Use this thread for the rumor mill about stars going to different places and upgrades to teams.I'll Start. Looks like T.O. could get bounced from the Cowboys.
1/15/2009 1:27:36 PM
As a Cowboys fan that makes me and at the same time.He is a great receiver no doubt but is not worth the trouble and drama plus he's getting older and not as productive now.

Lots of talk about the Chargers possibly trading or cutting LThttp://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/jim_trotter/01/14/tomlinson/index.htmlhttp://www3.signonsandiego.com/stories/2009/jan/13/chargers-s13canepa/?chargers

selling a commodity while it's value is at an all-time low? great idea!
1/15/2009 5:10:43 PM
meh, with the injury troubles he has had, there is a damn good chance next season could be even worse. May as well get something for him. I hope they aren't planning on making Sproles an every down type back next year though. They should at least pick up a bruiser to complement him
1/15/2009 5:32:55 PM
^^ It's not that they plan on getting a great pick or player for LT, but if they decide the team could better spend the 8.5 million dollars LT is going to make next year on other positions, they would be happy to unload him for a 3rd round pick.I think he will be back next year, but they will probably get him to renegotiate.^ They won't, they know sproles wouldn't be a good every down back. Even if he can take the workload, which I think he probably can, it's better to have a big back to wear down the defenses, then bring in a guy like sproles to be your homerun hitter.[Edited on January 15, 2009 at 6:42 PM. I can see the chargers signing sproles along with someone like brandon jacobs while releasing lt

Detroit Lions hire Schwartzhttp://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3835911good to have a defensive mind running things... but he still needs more talent
1/16/2009 8:23:47 AM
T.O. is definitely gone, but to the dolphins would not be good for the dolphins. LT is very possibly on his way out...I just wonder who would pic him up. I think he still has some good years in him. III
1/16/2009 10:49:18 AM
I don't see Parcells putting up with TO... again. That being said, if TO leaves Dallas combined with the departure of Adam Jones, it would help me hate the Cowboys a little less.
1/16/2009 11:16:41 AM
T.O. isnt going anywhere
1/16/2009 1:53:19 PM
T.O. should just play arena ball,[Edited on January 16, 2009 at 2:19 PM. Reason : lol]

Per Pro Football Weekly....Seahawks trying to work out a deal with HoushmanzadehGiants trying to work out a deal with Ocho CincoLT will be taking a huge pay cut if he wants to stay with the Chargers. This will be a very interesting off season.
1/25/2009 6:54:10 PM
^Would the Bengals really let TJ go?And as a Giants fan I feel like I speak on behalf of all of us when I say keep 85 the hell away from my team.
1/25/2009 7:27:43 PM
why are the giants going after 85 & not housh?
1/25/2009 7:29:17 PM
^ Not really sure, maybe because Housh is 32 years old??
1/25/2009 9:10:09 PM
Trading T.O to the Dolphins and cutting him are not the same thing.
1/25/2009 9:41:24 PM
^^& producing much better than chad johnson...who is a whopping 4 months younger
1/25/2009 10:47:37 PM
^. III
1/26/2009 9:14:04 AM
Honestly I don't think the Giants need any new receivers. But I think Julius Peppers would like to play in that sack-happy defensive scheme.
1/26/2009 1:46:08 PM
How would Phil Rivers do if he had T.O.?
1/27/2009 8:58:45 AM
The last thing the Chargers need is a WR. They've got much bigger holes to fill.
1/27/2009 9:01:11 AM
haha Ed Werder sucks
1/27/2009 11:05:51 AM
I would like to see a team like the bears, vikings or even the 49ers get a solid QBThese are 3 teams that arent that bad and I am pulling for one or more of them to acquire a good quarterback this offseasonmaybe Cassell, Mcnabb, or Warner
1/27/2009 11:22:49 AM
aaannndd what makes you think warner will be available?
1/27/2009 11:27:25 AM
at least T.O. will have his own reality show on VH1 this summer.
1/27/2009 11:27:39 AM
2/11/2009 3:49:53 PM
^TO going to the black hole would be hilarious.Speaking of the Raiders, their center Jake Grove voided his contract and is now an unrestricted free agent.
2/11/2009 3:53:05 PM
Oakland? Good fit for TO. I would love to see him the pit of despair. III
2/11/2009 5:06:53 PM
God dammit, Marshawn Lynch is in trouble with the law again..http://www.wivb.com/dpp/sports/Marshawn_Lynch_Arrested_in_California_20090215Suspension seems imminent.
2/15/2009 8:04:06 PM
The Giants franchised Jacobs...good call on their part.
2/15/2009 8:23:45 PM
Ravens cut Chris Mcallisterhttp://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3911564
2/16/2009 3:57:29 PM
Fred Taylor too
2/16/2009 4:01:22 PM
lions going with culpepper, makes me unhappyorlovsky is better
2/16/2009 4:10:47 PM
^Culpepper will be better with Lions than Orlavsky. DC looked half-way decent with no real practice time with the team and just getting thrust in. Team still sucked, but with rested DC and chance to go in depth in playbook and scheme he will be fine. Gotta get OL & not to mention coaching staff and some Gawt darn ownership & front office. III
2/16/2009 5:18:55 PM
Not a good week for Mcallisters. The Saints dropped (a) Deuce.
2/17/2009 1:07:25 PM
2/17/2009 2:54:09 PM
^ I agree with not being a good fit. However, I wonder if the Chargers will continue to be a run first team. Sproles is rumored be leaving, and LT looks like he is weakening. III
2/17/2009 5:38:40 PM
well it's not like they were a run first team this past season
2/17/2009 6:15:04 PM
Sure they were. They tried to run first every game. Most games they got stuffed, the D gave up a lot of points, and they were forced to pass in order to catch up.They operate mostly out of the I-formation. As long as Norv is there, that isn't changing.
2/17/2009 6:18:43 PM
^yep, it's just harder for you to realize they were a run first team cause of how bad they ran it
2/17/2009 8:00:15 PM
^^^They'll franchise Sproles before they let him leave. Especially with LT looking shaky.I agree though. TO would be a horrible fit
2/17/2009 8:18:48 PM
2/18/2009 6:02:56 PM
^What's it matter? they had the most room under the cap heading into last season's free agency & didn't make much of a splash (their biggest move, of course, being to elect not to spend a mere $6M of it on Turner)
2/18/2009 6:23:41 PM
Emmitt Smith just got....DEBACLED.http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/football/cowboys/classic/stories/022109dnspoccemmitt.371ef75e.html

Appears that the Pats and the Bills are the front runners for getting old ass fragile Fred Taylor.http://www.eastcoastsportsnews.com/als09scoop.html
