straddle a ditch, i've changed oil several times that way[Edited on January 12, 2009 at 8:15 AM. Reason : parallel to the ditch][Edited on January 12, 2009 at 8:17 AM. Reason : and does your car not have a jack for changing a flat tire? use that and some cinder blocks]

What you need is a gasket on your oil pan I would think. I have never seen an oil leak that was a result of the oil plug not being tight enough. Its an easy job if you have time to do it yourself.

^ or maybe a replacement oil pan as well. If they overtorqued the drain bolt, they could crack the oil pan

it's definitely possible that it's just a loose oil plug though. No way to tell at all until someone looks at it. It could be a dozen different things.

I am almost certain its not the oil plug. But yeah, it could be a dozen things, but I am willing to bet on its needs a replacement gasket. Again, I have never seen an oil leak as a result of a loose plug, but its plausible.[Edited on January 12, 2009 at 4:02 PM. Reason : /]

It sounds like this happened after a jiffy lube oil change....If that's the case, I'd take it back to them and bitch about it. Worth a shot at least

I am pretty sure when the OP said f*** Jiffy Lube he is saying so because they charge so much for simple stuff like this. I am quite sure he is not an idiot so why if he JUST got his oil changed would he be asking us what to do when it's obvious what to do? Take it right back.

it happened like a month after jiffy lubed itor at least that's the point at which i noticed oil on the garage floor dip stick still seems happy so maybe they just overfilled it like idiotseven if it is that, it's worth a couple bucks for that peace of mind[Edited on January 12, 2009 at 9:15 PM. Reason : oh, and if you can evaluate and change brakes and rotors that'd be pretty swell too]
