Yeah, but that number becomes obsolete when considering out of state tuition.
1/8/2009 5:46:03 PM
so does every public school, what's your point?
1/8/2009 5:57:11 PM
I wish we'd stop showing up in these things. Its like a big green light for the administration to raise tuition a little more.
1/8/2009 6:14:45 PM
I remember in 2003 when NCSU was the most affordable in the nation in some report.
1/8/2009 6:16:49 PM
oh yay we are the Walmart of universities golly gee how awesome i think i'd rather have gone to a university that cared more about the students than numbers and state politics.

1/8/2009 6:37:49 PM
what's so good about it?
1/8/2009 6:39:31 PM
gives people who aren't loaded an option beyond community college
1/8/2009 6:49:11 PM
i meant the ranking, not the price--besides ncsu is still the second most expensive public school in nc after unc[Edited on January 8, 2009 at 6:53 PM. Reason : not counting the school of the arts]

I wonder if that was done before or after all the departments got their budget cuts for this year
1/8/2009 10:56:32 PM
HUR has a good point.NCSU let that racist backwoods shithead in. It de-values the rest of our degrees.

^^ LOL!
1/9/2009 9:56:26 PM
given that they PAY you to go to any of the service academies, how can they not be numbers 1, 2, and 3
1/9/2009 10:05:22 PM
Not walmart. More Target - remember, value =/= cheap shit.
1/9/2009 10:17:06 PM
This list is a good thing for NCSU. Look at the other schools on that list, none of them suck and in fact a couple might even be considered prestigious.
1/10/2009 8:28:04 AM
not to mention they have a top 10 value private schools as well which are nearly ALL prestigeous universities.
1/10/2009 9:39:46 AM
did my undergrad at #6, grad work at #7, and now work at #8 on the private listi'm all about some value apparently

1/21/2010 6:44:15 PM
Hahahaha, you unlucky bastards.Get ready for 500 dollar increases in student fees and 800 dollar increases in tuition next year.I've never seen a university try as hard as NC State does to get themselves off this list.
1/21/2010 8:54:41 PM
^ did you read the list?
1/21/2010 9:18:00 PM
^^ heh true. Tuition was increased over 100% over the course of my time at State
1/21/2010 10:26:47 PM
scholarships FTW
1/21/2010 11:34:11 PM
#9 this year
1/21/2010 11:37:35 PM
UVA and NCSU in the top 10...lucky me
1/21/2010 11:42:56 PM
If I want a value I go to fucking Walmart. Being labelled as the "value" university can not look good for those applying for a job.

Here is the yahoo finance write up.http://customsites.yahoo.com/financiallyfit/finance/article-108629-3902-0-best-values-in-public-colleges-2009-10?ywaad=ad0035One thing I wonder about is when they talk about graduation rates do they consider co-op programs? I wonder how much that brings down our 4-year graduation rate.
